Vehicle Driveability Calibration Lead Engineer

Position Context: Vehicle DrivabilityEngineer with strong expertise in hardware level understanding of the ElectricDrive System (EDS) The role involves developing and validating drivabilityattributes such as pedal feel, brake blending, steering, and ride modes, whilealso addressing EDS mount stiffness, driveline backlash, NVH, and torqueoscillations that influence refinement and comfort. ·       Lead all activities related to the Drivability:Definition, Benchmarking, Calibration/Tuning.·       Analyze and mitigate EDS hardware effects (mount stiffness, bushingcompliance, backlash, torque oscillations) on drivability.·       Drive cross -functional collaboration with EDS, chassis, NVH, andpowertrain teams to ensure hardware layout supports drivability and refinementtargets·       Process and analysis of data out of the testing, elaborating the testreport, including main conclusions and recommendations.·       Benchmark competitor vehicles and translate hardware & calibrationdifferences into attribute learnings.·       Coordinate with suppliers and internal test facilities for component leveland vehicle level validation.·       Provide feedback into hardware design reviews to ensure drivabilityrequirements are met at component and system level ·       Support in infusing latest driveability trends and technologies·       Track the Technical Targets delivery status by following VD DVP testingexecution that are carried out by internal/external testing service providers·       Perform subjective and objective testing using AVL Drive to translatedriver feedback into calibration targets.·       Accelerator Pedal map shaping and differentiation, balancing pedal mapaggressiveness & controllability, torque shaping·       Lead issue identification, root cause analysis on Driveability Hardwareand software issue ​Manage JIRA system,to capture any issue detected during the development/testing.  Work together with the respective areas toaddress properly the technical solution of the issues. Requirements Education/ Professional knowledge: • Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineer or equivalent work experience (5+ years) in drivability engineering and EDS hardware development. • Exposure to EV/hybrid systems (regen tuning, e -motor torque delivery) – preferrable Skill, Experience: • Solid background in Vehicle systems, EV &B HEV Systems, Layout and Functions • In -depth understanding of Electric Drive Systems (EDS) including motor, inverter, gearbox, and mount system interactions. • Experience in calibrating regen strategies for different usage cases • Expertise in defining and calibrating multi -mode vehicle characters (Eco, Comfort, Sport, Off -road) • Experience in mounting system design and validation (torque reactions, NVH isolation, durability). • Hands on experience with instrumentation (torsional sensors, accelerometers, NVH rigs) for backlash & mount stiffness evaluationy. • Experience correlating objective measurements (torque oscillations, mount deflections, backlash angles) with subjective feel. • Good skills for subjective assessment of Performance Feel and Drivability • Experience of working with external global testing suppliers (Vibracoustic, Hutchinson, Aptiv, AVL, FEV) Other requirements (if need): • Domain of engineering fundamentals of Vehicle systems (EVs) • Skilled for Problem solving, analytical thinking and presenting result -oriented behavior • International proving grounds exposure and driving permit • Valid Driving licence ( LCV, SUV) • Assertive and presenting very good analytical skills • Willingness to travel overseas when required as per business demands • Good Team player and ability to work seamlessly with cross functional teams • Excellent oral and written communication skills (English) • Data automation and interpretation
