The purpose of this position is to manage and oversee the underwriting process for insurance policies, ensuring accurate and efficient assessment of applications. It involves developing guidelines, analyzing risk factors, and improving underwriting efficiency. Additionally, the role includes establishing and maintaining partnerships with hospitals, monitoring their performance, and facilitating communication between insurance and healthcare facilities. Lastly, it focuses on team leadership and development through coaching, mentoring, and organizing training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
Underwriting Services Management
Ensure Compliance: Monitor team adherence to company policies and regulatory standards in all underwriting processes.
Underwriting: Review and underwrite new and existing insurance proposals within authorized limits, ensuring sound risk assessment.
Quality Assurance: Verify and approve underwriting decisions made by lower-level underwriters, providing guidance and support as needed.
Customer Complaint Resolution: Address and resolve complaints from customers and agents regarding underwriting decisions, ensuring stakeholder satisfaction.
Guideline Development: Assist in the creation and periodic updating of underwriting guidelines and documentation to reflect industry changes and regulatory requirements.
Work closely with Reinsurer and Regional to review and align the process, UW guideline to improve auto underwriting
Lead all Underwriting projects to improve underwriting efficiency or build new products
Hospital Network Management
Partnership Development: Establish and nurture partnerships with hospitals and healthcare facilities, ensuring that the network consistently meets established quality standards.
Performance Monitoring: Regularly evaluate the performance of partner hospitals, identifying areas for enhancement and ensuring alignment with service level agreements (SLAs).
Facilitate Communication: Promote effective and ongoing communication between insurance representatives and healthcare facilities to ensure a seamless alignment of processes regarding underwriting and service delivery.
Quality Improvement Initiatives: Identify and implement opportunities for improvement within the network to enhance overall service efficiency and quality
Team Leadership and Development
Organize Training: Lead team development initiatives by organizing regular training sessions, workshops, and knowledge-sharing opportunities to keep the team informed of best practices and industry trends.
Lead, Mentor and Coaching to develop People: Foster a culture of continuous learning by managing and mentoring underwriting teams, enhancing quality and productivity.
Training for sale force in nationwide about Underwriting process to decrease avoidable pending.
