Reporting to Country Manager.

Direct reports:

  • Heads of Product departments (Air, Sea)
  • Head of Finance & Accounting department
  • Station HR & GA

Objective:

The Branch Manager's main goal is to increase the sales/business development and improve the customer service function of the Station. The person is responsible for the growth of local sales for his branch. The Branch Manager will also oversee all staffs and be responsible for day to day operational activities at the Station location.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Station to achieve profitable growth. Ensure all functions in the Station to comply with company strategy, policy and local regulations.
  • Station's P&L
  • Manage and direct the operations of the assigned District.
  • Develop annual business plan and formulate tactics to achieve the financial targets.
  • Plan and responsible for Station's financial result. Monitor the financial figures to ensure the Station meeting the BP plan.
  • People management
  • Evaluate employee performance and plan on Station's headcount.
  • Coach employees such as arranging regular training/sharing.
  • Manage the Station to comply with company strategy, policy and local regulations.
  • Business Expansion
  • Visit the existing clients and prospects regularly to demonstrate company capabilities.
  • Strengthen the relationship with external parties such as carriers, trucking company, warehouse, co-loaders and agents to ensure the station obtaining the best terms.
  • Lead the sales team to develop new business and create pipelines.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Ability to lead a small but dynamic team
  • English fluently.
  • Wide experience in air/ocean freight forwarding business
  • Top communication, organizational & planning skills
  • Teamwork, good interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing circumstances
  • Problem-solving ability, particularly when working under pressure
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Professional qualifications in Logistics or Supply Chain Management
  • At least five years' experience of successfully managing a team of reports in a multi-functional logistics-based operation
  • Can do attitude with a think out of the box approach to solution design
  • Direct knowledge and experience with CargoWise
  • Well organized, methodical strong communicator at every level
  • Employs leadership to situations - works productively with others across the business 

KPI's

  • Delivering monthly billing data to the business on time
  • Maintain and comply with service level agreements
  • Budget compliance
  • Personal Development Plan (PDP) completion for all employees and review annually
  • Financial reporting to the Regional management.

Other Duties

  • To apply, promote and practice unit rules and regulations
  • To apply, promote and practice Health and Safety instructions and regulations
  • To apply and promote all Statutory requirements as instructed
  • Undertake any other duty deemed reasonable by Senior management
  •  To know, understand, promote and enhance all SOPs for the site.

Working conditions:

Rare but may include evening and weekend work, working outdoors, working with challenging clients, and in a highly targeted fast paced environment.

The job holder is required to adequately manage themselves in an environment with the pressure of a fast paced and highly targeted work environment and to communicate any excessive pressure or other types of demands.

Physical requirements:

This role requires particular physical attributes due to its nature and tasks. A standard of physical health and fitness is required i.e.: Good vision, good hearing, good mobility.
