Director of Sport (Whole School)

BIS HCMC requires an enthusiastic, motivated, dynamic team player to lead our sports provision across all of our campuses. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in leading high-quality Sports and PE, be ready to be actively involved in local, national and regional sporting networks such as SISAC and FOBISIA and be passionate about continuing the development of competitive and recreational sports.

The PE department at BIS is an integral part of the school and encourages students to develop a love for sport and exercise that engages them in lessons and Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs), so that students have a desire to participate in physical activity for the rest of their lives. Each PE teacher strives to teach high quality student centred lessons, that stretch the students in both body and mind, using the school's Aide Memoire and BIS Learning Skills to their fullest. The primary and secondary PE departments are dynamic and incredibly hard-working teams that place a significant emphasis on their sporting teams. As such, BIS competes at the highest level locally in HCMC and internationally in the top groups at the multi-sport FOBISIA games, Nord Anglia Education tournaments, and single sport competitions.

In Secondary, our students continue with the English National Curriculum at Key Stage 3 in preparation for their IGCSEs and later, the rigorous IB Diploma Programme. Our 2025 cohort of 107 IBDP graduates achieved an average score of 36.4 points, significantly higher than the global average of 30.3 points, with 28% of our students achieving 40 points or more and 1 student achieving a perfect score of 45. Our students are equally successful at IGCSE. Our 2025 cohort of 128 students achieved 69% of grades at A*/A with 97% of our students achieving A* - C in 5 or more subjects and 39 students achieving A*/A grades across all their subjects.

Beyond academics, we have an exceptional enrichment programme with over 100 Co-Curricular activities and expeditions both in Vietnam and globally that help our students overcome challenges, build confidence, create lifelong memories and change to the communities around them.
