The ideal candidate will have strong creative skills and a portfolio of work which demonstrates their passion for illustrative design and typography. This candidate will have experiences in working with numerous different design platforms such as digital and print forms.

Responsibilities

Layout Design Excellence

  • Create sophisticated multi-page documents including presentations, whitepapers, and marketing collateral with impeccable grid systems and spatial harmony
  • Develop comprehensive layout systems that maintain consistency while accommodating diverse content requirements
  • Design information-rich interfaces that organize complex data with intuitive hierarchy and exceptional readability
  • Transform technical information into visually compelling layouts that enhance understanding without sacrificing accuracy
  • Establish and maintain layout guidelines that ensure cohesive brand expression across various formats and platforms

Typographic Mastery

  • Select and implement appropriate typefaces that reflect brand personality while ensuring optimal legibility for technical content
  • Apply advanced typographic principles including kerning, tracking, line spacing, and hierarchical systems
  • Create typographic systems that elegantly guide readers through complex information architecture
  • Maintain exceptional attention to typographic details including proper use of glyphs, ligatures, and special characters
  • Develop typographic standards documentation to ensure consistency across all client materials

Project Execution

  • Collaborate with the team to ensure consistency of designs across various media outlets
  • Create compelling logos, designs, print and digital media
  • Maintain awareness of current industry and technology standards, social media, competitive landscape and market trends
  • Collaborate effectively with strategists, writers, and client teams to align design solutions with project objectives
  • Adapt designs across multiple platforms while maintaining integrity and effectiveness
  • Present design concepts with articulate rationales that connect visual decisions to strategic goals
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining meticulous attention to detail
  • Prepare final files with exacting standards for both digital and print production

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or equivalent practical experience
  • 2+ years of professional experience with demonstrable expertise in layout design and typography
  • Exceptional portfolio showcasing sophisticated layout systems and typographic execution
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Demonstrable understanding of design fundamentals including composition, color theory, and visual hierarchy
  • Experience designing for both print and digital environments with appropriate technical knowledge for each
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly regarding typographic refinement and consistency
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and rationales
