About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled FHIR/HL7 SME to join our healthcare software development team. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain healthcare data integration solutions using HL7 v2, HL7 v3, and FHIR standards. You will work closely with product managers, developers, and clinical stakeholders to ensure seamless interoperability between our systems and external healthcare entities (EHRs, HIEs, labs, etc.).Europe, APAC…

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify appropriate FHIR resources for project use cases.

• Map legacy/relational data models to FHIR resources and recommend improvements to

align with FHIR standards.

• Define and document data exchange workflows using HL7 v2.x and FHIR RESTful

APIs.

• Collaborate with Data Architects, Integration Engineers, and API Developers to ensure

consistent implementation.

• Validate FHIR implementation guides, profiles, and extensions for next gen HIS/EMR.

• Provide technical leadership in resolving interoperability, data modelling, and resource

mapping challenges.

• Ensure compliance with healthcare data standards and terminologies

• Review and sign off on database and API designs to ensure alignment with FHIR

standards.

• Mentor development teams on FHIR-based design principles and best practices.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related

field.

• 3+ years of experience in healthcare IT with focus on interoperability, data modelling,

and APIs.

• Strong expertise in FHIR R4/R5 resources and profiles, HL7 v2.x.

• Proven experience designing relational data models and APIs that align with FHIR

standards.

• Hands-on experience in mapping legacy data structures to FHIR resources.

• Strong understanding of healthcare workflows

• Familiarity with integration engines (Mirth Connect).

• Strong communication and documentation skills to bridge business and technical

stakeholders.

• Preferably has HL7/FHIR certification(s).

• Experience with healthcare terminologies (LOINC, SNOMED CT, ICD-10, CPT) will be

an added advantage.

• Prior experience in database optimization and API-first architecture in healthcare systems

is preferred.

• Experience with microservices and cloud-native integration patterns (e.g., Azure Service

Bus) will be an advantage.
