1 MISSION OF THE DEPARTMENT

Enabling WWF mission delivery through the continuous pursuit of the optimum balance between efficiency and effectiveness with respect to internal systems, tools, and processes. This will be achieved via the delivery of a high standard of: strategic financial management, effective digital solutions, proactive risk management, quality guidance, advice, and communication of both regulatory and internal standards requirements all through an inclusive people-centered lens.

2 MAJOR FUNCTIONS

Assist country finance teams by providing guidance, support, and capacity building to ensure effective financial management for conservation projects. Help review accounting deliverables, monitor audit recommendations, and ensure compliance with organizational policies. Contribute to strengthening internal controls and safeguarding financial data to mitigate risks and ensure smooth operations.

3 MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with the review of accounting deliverables for assigned countries, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
• Support in maintaining compliance with Swiss GAAP FER and organizational policies to maintain high financial reporting standards.
• Assist in the review of internal controls to safeguard financial data.
• Identify risks and findings from reviews and share them with relevant stakeholders to ensure they are addressed.
• Suggest ideas to enhance accounting processes across Country Offices.

4 PROFILE

Required Qualifications.

• University degree in finance/accounting.
• Minimum five years experience in accounting and reporting, ideally within an international group of companies.

Required Skills and Competencies.

• Skilled in understanding customer requirements, anticipating their needs, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards such as Swiss GAAP FER, while assisting in delivering solutions that align with customer expectations.
• Committed to supporting continuous process improvements based on feedback, helping to maintain compliance and efficiency in accounting processes.
• Effective in communicating with a geographically dispersed and diverse team, fostering clear lines of communication.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage tasks and contribute to team objectives.
• Proven interpersonal and people-management skills, complemented by excellent written and spoken English, and French language skills are an asset;

5 WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Internal.

Frequently interacts with finance teams across Country Offices as well as regular interaction with business partners, Manager Financial Accounting, and Secretariat Finance teams.

External.

Liaises closely with external auditors and external software suppliers and IT consultants, industry peers.
