Finance Business Partner

Key Purpose of the Role:

The Finance Business Partner is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and analysis that support strategic decisions for the divisional manager and portfolio business. This role also manages cash flow, drives operational efficiency, and ensures profitability through careful financial planning.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Budgeting & Planning

• Manage the end-to-end process for annual strategy planning, KPI setting, and zero-based budgeting. Collaborate with departments to create a detailed, accurate, and cohesive yearly budget.
• Set monthly, quarterly, and yearly targets in partnership with relevant stakeholders.
• Review rolling forecasts regularly to reflect business, market, and operational changes, providing management with insights to achieve company goals.
• Review weekly and monthly cash flow plans and forecasts.
• Develop business cases and expansion proposals for new projects and opportunities.

2. Performance Management

• Deliver monthly management reports for management meetings, providing insights, recommendations, and answering questions on financial performance.
• Partner with divisional managers to track performance throughout the year.
• Monitor performance using charts, graphs, and tables; review monthly (or more frequently if needed).
• Analyze variances between actual performance, budgets, and forecasts; investigate significant deviations to improve forecasting and safeguard business performance.
• Analyze revenue mix and profitability by center, channel, product, customer, segment, and function; monitor trends and investigate notable changes.

3. Decision-Making Enablement

• Advise on pricing, promotions, compensation schemes, and other financially sensitive matters.
• Evaluate departmental cost-efficiency; track trends, identify outliers, and recommend improvements to operational efficiency.
• Monitor key business drivers and financial ratios versus targets and industry benchmarks, translating insights into actionable recommendations.
• Support divisional managers with financial guidance to ensure stable and cost-effective operations.
• Review and approve or reject purchase requests, project expenditures, and other expenses in alignment with the budget.

4. Stakeholder Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align business strategies with financial outcomes and drive sustainable performance.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with management and functional teams by fostering collaboration, driving consensus, and analyzing results and assumptions.

Qualifications:

• 4–6 years of progressive finance or accounting experience.
• Strong negotiation skills to manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
• Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, or CIMA) highly preferred.
• Strong business acumen, highly organized, and detail-oriented.
• Ability to work independently and drive results.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Thorough understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with ERP software systems.

Employment Details:

• Probation: 2 months, full salary during probation.
• Working hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday – Friday.
• Annual leave: 15 days, Sick leave: 3 days.
