Summer Camp Site Director

Site Directors will be responsible to run and manage the VAS Summer Programme’s day to day operations. Responsibilities include the coordination, operation and support of activity programmes ensuring their effective and cohesive operation on a day-to-day-basis; on the job counselor training, plus the support and supervision of all staff; camper wellness and the implementation of medical attention where/when applicable.
1. Work in close collaboration with the Head of the Summer Programme and Summer Camp Specialists of VAS, Counsellors, Co Counsellors, TA’s, EI Teachers, Kindy Teachers, IPC’s and School Managers, External Vendors and Volunteers
2. Supervise campers, guests, and staff throughout the summer camp programme to ensure standards of operation, safety, creativity and structure are implemented
3. Proactively identify and solve problems and areas of concern for staff, campers and volunteers
4. Be responsible to:
- Create a curriculum and resource lists for an assigned area, including but not limited to: Weekly Theme, Weekly Competition, Journals, Behavior Point System. Student Handbooks, Staff Training prior to the start of camp
- Participate in Pre-Camp Meetings and conduct Pre-Camp Site Checks, Inventory Checks, and set up Site Director’s’ Camp office and any other areas requested by Head of Summer Programme
- Conduct Inventory checks, organization and tracking system
- Actively participate in the training and on-the-job coaching of the staff of the assigned campus
- Manage the day-to-day activities and events within the assigned campus with internal and external staff
- Ensure smooth delivery of the camp activities and programmes, including staffing arrangement and resources
- Responsible for overseeing the quality of the summer camp diaries that are sent home to parents
- Manage staff schedules, making changes where appropriate and arranging transport for students where necessary, manage external vendor schedules and notify if there is a class cancellation for any reason
- Greet and welcome all campers, staff and parents each day
- Orient all campers to camp rules on first day
- Relieve and assist counselors as required, find cover for classes in which a teacher is absent
- Remain visible and accessible to staff and campers
- Coordinate daily cleanup of all programme areas and the camp office workspace
- Plan, lead, coordinate and attend the morning and afternoon assemblies
- Contribute to weekly staff meetings re: leadership, camper concerns, volunteer support etc.
5. Meet weekly with the Head of the Summer Programme and other VAS Team members to discuss and address the operational matters of the camp
6. Adhere to and support all camp policies and procedures as detailed in the Staff Manual
7. Report all accidents/incidents and programme concerns to the Head of the Summer Programme, IPCs and VAS School Management Team in a timely manner
8. Participate and contribute to staff performances at Summer Fair
9. Other duties as assigned by the Head of ECA from time to time
10. Adhere to and support all camp policies and procedures as detailed in the Summer Camp Staff Manual
**Your background and experience**:
This is a certified A-Level Business Studies teaching position that requires you to have a recognised teaching qualification in A-Level Business Studies.
Please note that you must have the following qualifications to be considered:
- **Bachelors**or **Masters** in Education** or
- Relevant degree (minimum **3-year Bachelor degree**in Business Studies or similar) and **a post-graduate qualification in education** (PGCE, IPGCE, Teaching Now/Ready) and/or **a teaching license from a national/state accreditation board**.

- Ability to communicate and work with a variety of age and skill levels
- Desire and ability to work in a cooperative, team-oriented atmosphere
- Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience and self-control
- Available for pre-programme training end of May 2025
- Deliver training sessions from 2 - 6 June, 2025
- Available 7:00am-5:00pm, Monday - Friday from June 9 through July 18, 2025. You may be required to stay beyond the standard working hours for staff meetings once a week and be available to participate in the Summer Camp Fair Event on Saturday, 12 July 2025
**Remuneration package**:
This salary for this position will be determined based on experience and qualifications against a competitive pay structure, including a completion bonus.
