- YOUR ROLE
- The Safety & Security Coordinator, is a specialist role responsible for providing coordination, coaching and advice on a range of safety and security issues to assist the university community to identify and appropriate control HSW risks at work.
- The role will have a broad understanding of risks ranging from chemical and biological, occupational heath, office safety, fire safety, trainings to hazardous manual tasks and psychological.
- The role will also be responsible for regular reporting on risk profiles and controls and will contribute to the projects as required
- KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- OHS system & documentation- Maintain OHS documentation system & record management in accordance with RMIT OHSS&S Management system.-
- Compile OHS internal and external reports such as: DOLISA, Occupational Hygiene reports, LTI, incident reports-
- Prepare and coordinate all mandatory training courses, orientation sessions, meetings including OHS Committee meetings, face-to-face discussions with stakeholders, contractors’ safety meetings ect-
- Conduct local OHS Trainings/ Presentations (to contractors & food vendors) on regular basis and as needed: safety orientation to staff and stakeholders;-
- Coordinate site risk assessments and regular site safety inspections to identify, eliminate and control hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and or property damage. Follow-up with relevant stakeholders to ensure corrective & preventive actions taken and closed on time.- Campus Safety/ Event Safety & Security- Qualify contractors, conducting OHS inductions, contractor meeting, site check, review Safe Work Method Statement review and approval; Provide consultation regarding OHS issues raised from staff members where relevant;-
- Evaluate safety performance of contractors and ensure that contractors working on site follow OHS policies and requirements; Collaborate and follow-up with relevant internal stakeholders on the implementation of recommended corrective/preventive actions;-
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for event safety, not limit to qualifying catering service providers in terms of food safety and hygiene requirements including legal compulsory documents; their service performance on site-
- Manage local Firefighting team, fire wardens & first aid team; coordinate with local authorities & internal stakeholders to organize fire safety training & fire evacuation and firefighting drill at least once a year-
- Support security team to prevent and detect signs of intrusion or unauthorized access.-
- Respond promptly to security breaches, alarms, and other incidents, and investigate and report on any security incidents.-
- Conduct regular security checks and inspections of the premises and report any issues or concerns.-
- Supervise teams of guards' force, providing leadership, and enforce company policies, procedures and guidance.-
- Train, mentor, and supervise security personnel, and enforce company policies and procedures.-
- Efficient with O365 (online excel, SharePoint, teams, outlook...) in order to manage access control.-
- Interact with customers, employees, and visitors in a professional, friendly, and helpful manner.-
- Undertake any other duties as required by the Senior Manager, OHSS&S- KEY SELECTION CRITERIA- Bachelor degree in Health & Safety, Environment or related discipline with minimum 03-year experience in OHS related position-
- Experience in maintaining OH&S, Security management systems, including OHS & Security best practices, procedures, instructions, or guidelines.-
- Having experience in auditing in OH&S management systems, examples: ISO 14001:2015; ISO 45000:2018 & ISO 22000.-
- Strong OH&S awareness and behavior to be a good example for others.-
- Good communication skills; team player.-
- Good influencing and challenging skills.-
- Strong knowledge and experience of hands-on University operations.-
- Knowledge and understanding of general and specific health and safety practices and procedures.-
- Knowledge and understanding of Vietnamese occupational health and safety legal framework standards and requirements.-
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, including coordination, liaison, negotiation, and multicultural communication.-
