**Job Description Summary**: The Government Engagement Director will lead and coordinate GE Aerospace Government engagement initiatives in Vietnam across ministries, embassies, and government entities. They will advise on a broad range of governmental regulatory issues, monitoring and advising GE Aerospace leadership regarding the local geopolitical, macroeconomic policy and regulatory issues that may affect GE Aerospace’s interests. They will represent GE Aerospace at senior levels and interact with relevant third parties.

**Responsibilities**:

- Execute the mission of GE Aerospace in Vietnam and build strong stakeholder relationships, especially on the governmental level and across ministries and other cross-cutting Ministries (e.g. Finance, Commerce & Industries, External Affairs). Establish a coordinated working rhythm with the BU divisions.
- Inform GE Aerospace constituents, including leadership regionally and globally of macroeconomic policy, geopolitical analysis, regulatory trends and developments, and coordinate with those constituents on the development and execution of GE Aerospace’s Government Engagement agenda to protect and secure business growth.
- Partner with country/region leadership to develop and facilitate the execution of the policy & regulatory affairs strategy in the local market, provide local market intelligence to the businesses and country leader. Help manage and mitigate the political and geo-political risks in the country/region.
- Support GE Aerospace leaders in country to secure/improve market access through policy shaping, leveraging expertise with government institutions and run transactional advocacy campaigns.
- Share best practices, identify government subsidies and initiatives that could be beneficial to secure funding, where applicable.
- Identify and inform leadership about governmental and cross ministries (commercial) opportunities
- Monitor public policy and provide timely geopolitical analysis.
- Support sales to governments by helping sales teams tailor bids to government needs, marshalling government support and advocacy for bids, and utilizing government financing.
- Provide expert advice on the workings of the government institutions and decision-making procedures and changes in government players.
- Partner with government affairs and communication leaders to ensure a cohesive approach.

**Qualifications**:

- Graduate degree preferably in Economics, law, political science, or public policy.
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience working on government affairs matters, including significant relevant experience with a government, global corporation and/or with an international law or consultancy firm.
- Deep knowledge on Vietnam government institutions, regulations, policies, funding programs, and priorities.

- Previous experience in transactional support and funding programs would be a significant advantage.
