Senior Database Engineer

Our Product & Engineering Team is looking for a Senior Database Engineer that will be responsible for building Data Lake with data from inside and outside our company for our PAVE vehicle inspection product.

**Location**:143 Le Quang Dinh Street, Ward 14, Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City (Hybrid, Remote, Flexible)

**What you will do**:

- Work directly with CTO to architect and build Data Lake with data from inside and outside our company.
- Proven knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
- Write maintainable, scalable, and performant database code and refactor existing code objects.
- Identify and remediate technical obstacles to migrations.
- Operate test and development environments in the cloud, run and analyze test results, perform diagnostics and troubleshooting, open, prioritize, and help triage defects, and track and report test status and results.
- Design solutions and tooling to execute automated database deployments, upgrades and migrations.
- Evaluate and drive changes to database and software architectures to address recurring issues or limitations.
- Research and identify new opportunities for AWS to innovate on behalf of our clients.

**What we’re looking for**:

- 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, Database Engineer, or similar role required.
- Degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Experience in multiple different relational databases, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL and NoSQL.
- Experience with non-relational databases, e.g. MongoDB and Redis, and other data stores: file warehouse, etc.
- Experience working with high availability, disaster recovery and performance tuning strategies including parameters, resources, contention.
- A deep understanding of data replication with experience in at least one replication technology.
- Experience in writing complex procedural language artifacts: PL/SQL, TSQL, PL/PgSQL stored procedures.
- Experience in Shell/Perl/Python scripting.
- Ability to develop new ideas and creative solutions.
- Familiarity with working in an agile pod and center of excellence structure.
- Experience influencing product development and working with development teams.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills with the ability to influence others internally and externally.

**Nice-to-haves**:

- Relevant Application/Database replatforming experience (Commercial to Open Source Engines).
- Experience in AWS Platforms and Service.
- Experience with TCP/IP Networking.
- Experience with mission-critical databases across multiple database platforms (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Netezza, Teradata, Vertica, etc.).
- Experience in Data Modeling, ETL workflow management desired & ability to write, tune SQL queries.
