We are looking to hire a highly driven individual to join as Associate Analyst to support credit ratings and research activity for Corporates and/or Financial Institutions. She or he will assist the Lead Analysts in the preparation of credit analysis, credit rating recommendations and research tasks, including but not limited to data analysis, research publication, record retention, and maintenance of rating and research databases.

This position will be in Hanoi and may require some business travel.

**Responsibilities**:
**_Portfolio Management_**
- Perform day-to-day credit analysis related to ratings, research, presentations, and investor outreach
- Review financial spreadsheets and charts prepared by others, analyzing data and financial statements, building and updating financial forecasts, and writing analytical commentary in accordance with credit rating methodologies
- Review transaction documents and build knowledge of cash flow and loss allocation rules (if applicable to rating group)
- Support Lead Analysts to prepare rating council materials
- Demonstrate the ability to understand and identify key factors that affect issuer credit ratings
- Escalates matters for discussion with Lead Analyst where appropriate and provides credit specific nuance
- Monitor credit quality and issuer and/or portfolio trends by following market developments, earnings calls, analyzing issuer reporting, and engaging with issuers directly for follow-up clarification and information
- Attend and support lead analyst to present recommendation in rating council meetings
- Adhere to applicable codes of conduct, policies, procedures, regulations, and best practices

**_Research & Investor Outreach_**
- Support Lead Analysts to prepare core research as applicable to the rating group e.g. issuer and sector comments, press releases etc. in collaboration with Lead Analysts
- Contribute to research strategy, including idea generation and preliminary drafting
- Attend investor briefings and issuer meetings as required; may help prepare presentation materials; be prepared to engage in discussions and may lead certain sections
- Build positive relationships with issuers - displays initiative to understand the issuer’s business and proactively respond to issuer enquiries

**_Credit Administration_**
- Perform analytical tasks related to portfolio reviews and other credit projects
- Demonstrate competency in processing ratings and research through internal systems and utilizes software specific to the rating group. Constructs and takes ownership of analytical databases as applicable. Identifies all issues with data for follow up with lead analyst
- Actively participate in special projects while concurrently maintaining consistently high performance in core responsibilities. Provide significant input into various analytical and statistical projects

**_Coaching & Guidance_**
- Contribute to training and on-boarding of new staff, serving as a ‘buddy’ where applicable
- Serve as a resource on more complex credit questions and issues for less experienced staff. Acts as mentor to more junior staff, for topics such as research writing, issuer relationship management and credit process

**Requirements**:

- University or higher degree in economics, finance, banking, accounting, audit, statistics, business administration or professional field in the business lines of credit rating agencies
- At least three (3) years’ working experience in any of the fields: economics, finance, banking, accounting, audit, statistics, business administration or professional field in the business lines of credit rating agencies
- Strong quantitative aptitude and demonstrated analytical ability. Familiarity on financial projection and analysis a plus
- Articulate and succinct communication skills, both verbally and in writing, in English and Vietnamese, with public speaking experience ideal. Previous experience writing research in either an equity or credit market context would be advantageous
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrate intellectual curiosity, honesty, independence, thoroughness, responsibility and accountability
