The Project Manager is responsible the management of major capital projects & programs from inception to completion, and in addition to support other campus infrastructure development programs of the University in order to maintain a high standard of facilities within buildings at RMIT Vietnam. The Project Manager will be responsible for feasibility reports and recommendations, concept design and schematic design, construction management, effective management of external service providers, consultants, internal and external stakeholders, tender negotiation phase of projects, and effective budget monitoring and costing.
- Effective delivery and management of major capital works projects and programs, ensuring all stages of the projects are appropriately resourced, budgeted, tracked and reported within agreed timeframes.
- Lead and manage groups of external consultants to ensure their performance in accordance with RMIT statement of requirements and guidelines.
- Contract administration and negotiation in adherence with RMIT Vietnam legal framework.
- Feasibility reports, schematic design and design development stages of the project for presentation to various stakeholders and committees.
- Concept design, safety assessment and review and interpretation of technical specifications and documentation.
- Manage, monitor and report on project costings throughout project lifecycle.
- Participating in forecast, track, monitor and control budget for overall campus capital works.
- Develop strong stakeholder relationships to fully identify the scope of projects and programs and maintain continued stakeholder commitment and confidence throughout the project lifecycle.
- Proactively identify risks and implement contingencies to mitigate risks by maintaining a risk register.
- Manage the efficient and cost-effective completion of assigned projects using RMIT's internal project management Gateway Framework during feasibility, design, construction and commissioning phases.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and external authorities to obtain relevant permit approvals for planning & construction of the required projects.
- In conjunction with Capital Works team update and distribute monthly capital works summary report to senior leadership team.
- In conjunction with internal OH&S team, ensure compliance & implement the relevant aspects of OH&S Systems during project procurement, delivery and post-contract stage - including but not limited regular site inspection, participation in preparation of Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) & Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and other safety audit as required.
- Manage and report the medium range and overall construction programme for the assigned projects throughout project inception, procurement, delivery and hand-over stages.
- Ensure that documentation issued for construction is appropriately approved, issued and tracked under the project documentation management system procedures.
- Ensure non-conformances are recorded and corrective actions initiated and closed out promptly. Coordinate defect list and ensure the close out of defects, non-conformances and incomplete works
- Manage the design details/ shop drawings approvals process of the nominated packages in conjunction with the external PM and consultants.
- Provide support and mentoring to junior project coordinators.

**Qualifications**:

- At least five years of experience and a proven track record in successfully delivering large scale and complex infrastructure projects from inception to completion within a commercial environment.
- Experience in conducting feasibility studies, concept design, detailed design, construction management and supervision of works.
- Ability to manage, influence and motivate internal project team, consultants and external contractors and service providers.
- Experience in coordinating and implementing strategic projects by utilizing effective management principles of planning, resource allocation, communication, formalized documentation, implementation, negotiation, evaluation and reporting.
- Ability to deliver projects within project timeframes ensuring quality and cost deliverables are also met.
- Experience in monitoring and managing project cost and budgets.
- Sound understanding of capital expenditure and accounting principles with ability to interpret financial information to present in a clear and concise manner.
- Relevant project management qualification such as** Prince2, PMP, MSP or P3O** highly desirable.
- Experience with Green Building Standards and implementation of sustainability initiatives within programs.
