SEA Product Safety organization provides product regulatory, hazard communications and product stewardship expertise and supports all Dow businesses to ensure that products are imported, manufactured and placed on the market in compliance with national, local and Dow requirements.

The Regulatory Specialist is responsible for supporting business sustainability and growth in this area with increasing regulatory complexity and requirements by understanding / interpreting national and local product EH&S regulations, monitoring EHS product regulatory developments, establishing the necessary internal networks for Diamond System implementation, and ensuring Dow Vietnam compliance to relevant reporting requirements. In the area of Hazard Communications, he/she also assists businesses in addressing customer regulatory inquiries; provide appropriate training to business partners, within and outside Vietnam.

The Regulatory Specialist will report to Hye-Jin Soh, Korea and SEA/ANZ Product Safety Leader. The role is based in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.

Job Decription

Supports the business regulatory complexity and requirements by monitoring regulatory developments. In addition, establishes external networks for advocacy, performs necessary internal product regulatory assessments and serves as the local Dow contact in case of enforcement actions by local authorities.

Responsibilities / Duties
- Interprets and consults for the businesses using expanded conceptual knowledge and broadened capabilities.
- Supports clients in completing regulatory submittals and reporting requirements, and provides informal guidance to new team members.
- Leverages regulatory expertise for different businesses.
- Engages regulatory officials on products of interest and advocates for improvements to rules, requirements, management systems, data requests, etc.

Qualifications / Education
- Knowledge of Vietnam EH&S chemical product regulations
- Proven ability to work independently, cross-business, cross-function,
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
- Flexible and team oriented with excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in Vietnamese and English. Knowledge of other languages in the Asia Pacific region is beneficial.
- Bachelor or Master’s degree, preferably in science or engineering discipline, with a minimum of more than 2 years of industrial experience in chemical or related industry minimum (3 years of experience is preferred).
- No routine travel anticipated.
