**Key Responsibilities**:

- Designing and developing platform improvements in line with the business vision and technical strategy.
- Analyse and improve efficiency, scalability and stability of products and services.
- Peer and Code Review work of other team members.
- Contribute to building a culture of support, creativity and learning within your Agile product team and the wider Software Engineering community.
- Adhere to best practice principles for development, including source control, build, testing and deployment. B eing responsible for information security and data protection, and supporting the business in complying with any legal obligations imposed upon it through positive actions

**Position Reports To**

Lead Software Engineer

**Technical Competencies**:

- Excellent written and verbal English language skills
- Current working experience of Object-Oriented Language (Typescript, Python)
- Experience working with Serverless / Microservice principles
- Awareness of Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery / Unit Testing / BDD / TDD
- Familiar with REST API principles
- Knowledge of and/or experience with AWS Services (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda) Knowledge of and/or experience with Serverless (FaaS) computing

**Required Experience**:

- Ideally a Software Engineer with two or more years’ experience within their respective field.
- Building and managing APIs
- Experience in creation of technical documentation
- Familiar with Agile working practices Backend development Python / Typescript

**Desired Experience**:

- Building microservices using AWS Lambda
- CI / CD pipelines using AWS CodePipline
- Working with mathematical / financial calculations
- Working in a team with front-end and back-end split
- Working in a cross functional team Team leading / mentoring experience
