**At a Glance**:
We are currently looking for a Tooling Engineer to join On's Footwear Innovation Development team in Vietnam. The Tooling Engineer will work with the development team in both Switzerland and Vietnam and coordinate tooling development between mold shops, shoe factories and bottom unit suppliers to make sure that we have bottom units which are tested and ready to go onto athletes' feet or to the inline team. In addition, the Tooling Engineer will be the key person to make sure new, innovative, tooling technologies are transferred and translated into the inline range and that runners get the best out of our shoes.
**Your Team**:
On’s Innovation Team is responsible for On’s future innovation, out-of-the-box thinking and the outstanding athlete-informed technology that differentiates On footwear from all other footwear products in the market. By joining the On's Innovation Team, you will have the opportunity to be part of an agile and interdisciplinary team of experts in the areas of engineering and sports science.
**Your Mission**:
- Drive the innovation team’s new tooling development from initial 2D all the way to opening molds in the required sizes for either handoff to the inline team or for athletes.
- Guide the grading of parts opened for athlete & innovation projects.
- Collaborate directly with Zurich team and T1/ T2 on tooling communication.
- Monitor mold trial and stock-fitting trial for all molds opened and work with the compound engineering team to address arising issues.
- Work with Development and Engineering teams, both internally and externally (T1s, T2s) to optimise processes and address any issues which arise during the process of driving an innovation project.
- Work closely with mold shops to ensure that all molds meet the standard to produce the highest quality parts. Choose and allocate suppliers & mold shops with the help of the compound team as well as the development team, to drive projects to completion.
- Conduct extensive trials for tooling and technology validation ahead of technology transfers to the inline team. Draft and build full Technical Transfer Manuals to ensure that technologies are transferred seamlessly to the inline team.
**Your Story**:
- More than 05 years' experience in tooling with extensive knowledge of the molding process, molding equipment, molding materials and tooling.
- Experience with CMEVA, IMEVA, rubber, TPU.
- Experience with new & innovation molding processes.
- Experience with CAD (2D/ 3D).
- Ability to work independently under a deadline on several projects simultaneously requiring both innovative ideas and engineering problem-solving
- Fluent in English (written and spoken), Mandarin is a plus.
