**Job summary**:
To act as the general legal counsel for the company, counselling the company on its legal rights and obligations and supporting the company’s management in all aspects during the normal course of the business and operation; managing legal risks and other legal issues so to identify the opportunities as well as the challenges for the company’s best interests; and supervising the performance of the Legal and Compliance Team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Advising and supporting the Management and various functions on legal and compliance matters in all aspects during the normal course of the business and operation.
- Identifying and managing legal and compliance risks so to optimize the business.
- Managing potential disputes and claims as well as other legal issues arising during the normal course of the business and operation.
- Managing and overseeing the Legal and Compliance Team’s performance on daily basis
- Providing training and establishing the professional development plan for the team.
- Advising and establishing the legal management system, and relevant policies and procedures.
- Support the Management and various functions in managing and maintaining relationship with Government and relevant State bodies/ agencies, sponsors and other stakeholders.
- Managing and coordinating with external counsels.
- To provide legal advices and support in effective manner
- To follow up and resolve timely and tenaciously all issues identified during the business and operations as assigned.
- To ensure the legal compliance throughout the business and functions
- To effectively work with other team member/functions and contribute to the performance of the whole company in general and the legal function in particular
- To proactively take necessary actions in identifying, reporting on legal risk as well a finding and deploying solutions or mitigation of such identified legal risk.

**Experience requirements**:

- Minimum 12 years of experiences, of which at least 7 years working as a lawyer in an international law-firm(s) and/or in-house counsel for a multinational company(ies) or 5 years working in oil and gas industry.
- Deep understanding of Vietnam legal systems, laws and regulations, the legal trends.
- Having experiences with other foreign law systems, preferable English laws.
- Strong experience in international oil and gas industry, especially downstream, or petrochemicals is advantage.
- Experiences in corporate governance, corporate and commercial matters, M&A, project financing, cross-border transactions, and managing legal issues in all aspect of the business, including dispute resolution.
- Risk management and legal compliance.
- Strong relationship and experiences working with Government and other State bodies/agencies, including the Vietnamese court system.
- Fluent in English, both in writing and communicating

**Education requirements**:

- Law degree
- Qualified lawyer in Vietnam
- Postgraduate degree is an advantage
- Education in a foreign country with either common law or civil law system is advantage
