**Job position**: Urban/ **Master Planner**

**Job brief/purpose**:
**Master planning**:able to carry out the whole process of urban/ master planning feasibility studies including but not limited to following tasks:

- Benchmarking study for comparable policies/ developments
- Desktop review/ Independent site visits to do SWOT analysis of sites/ developments
- Develop high level conceptual options, location and layout of urban/ master planning/ land uses
- Identify population and GFA demands from urban/ master plans through benchmarking of projects
- Integrate inputs and outputs with the environmental, infrastructure and transportation planners to ensure deliverables with quality standard.
- Keep abreast of latest trends and government policy directions as well as their implications.
- **Design and production of deliverables**: Managing self and outputs from support staff to prepare high quality, modern looking documents that stands out from the peers due to their presentation style and reporting.
- Responding to ad hoc client and stakeholder requests: Quick turnaround for short planning exercise

**General Function**: Reporting to the Hong Kong and Vietnam Planning Team, he/she will undertake various project tasks and also, as needed, support on various feasibility studies/ technical analysis and lead individual tasks and technical write-up, for assigned projects for the Vietnam market but also for regional projects, as needed.

**Relationships/Contacts**:

- External: Meeting and establishing relationships with local authorities and Regular liaison outside the firm with technical specialists, clients, engineers, and local authorities.
- Experience: Previous experience of working in a large multicultural and multidisciplinary environment.
- Internal: Team player, working interactively with colleagues from similar and engineering disciplines from various offices of the firm.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**: Relevant Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, and or Urban Design, preferably with a Masters/Doctorate in urban/ master planning or development from a recognized university and at least 5-8-year relevant experiences; Post graduate experience in residential, campus, CBD architecture or site planning with consultancy or a private developer.
- **Communication**: Good communication skills and team spirit with careful and logical thinking, planning and implementing capabilities, initiative, with strong sense of responsibility and cooperation;
- **Technical**: Good at hand drawing and various of software such as AutoCAD, PowerPoint, GIS, Sketch Up, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, Rhinoceros;
- **Design**:Proven integration and independently project design ability, and the ability of visual presenting and drafting; Ability to complete tasks swiftly to meet tight deadlines.
- **Knowledge**: Sound knowledge of international best practices and demonstration of use of innovative techniques in urban design, urban planning, and sustainable development.
- **Travel**: Willingness to travel to various locations for client meetings, site visits and stakeholder engagement in the region at short notice.
- **Language**: High fluency in English (TOEIC 800 or above) required to write reports and present work to clients/authorities as well as required to effectively collaborate with colleagues from other offices. Fluency in Vietnamese is recommended.
- **Experience**:Experience with Vietnam planning guidelines and processes is preferred. Overseas study or work experience or experience in a foreign company is a value.
