Over the last year, what3words has been used in 193 countries, and our monthly active users continue to grow at an impressive pace. Our tech is used by emergency services, delivery companies, eCommerce businesses, ride-hailing apps and NGOs, and is integrated into the navigation systems of millions of cars around the world.

**The role**:
Based in HCMC you’ll be joining our Data team within our fast-growing tech team in Vietnam. You will be responsible for gathering insights from across our App, Map, and API data and feeding them back to our Business Development, Growth, Marketing, and Product teams to action.

You will be a self-starter, who is able to initiate, manage and present analytics using a range of data sources and methods. You will also be working alongside Data Engineers and Analysts to design experiments, do bespoke analysis, and generate new insightful views to our data. Finally, you will be comfortable owning and presenting insights to stakeholders, challenging the status quo, and educating the wider company on how to use the data we produce.

In your day-to-day work you’ll use SQL (in BigQuery) and Python, build data models in dbt, and use a variety of reporting tools (Looker Studio and Lightdash). The rest of our data engineering tech stack includes Airflow and Fivetran, which you may also interact with from time to time.

**Responsibilities**:

- Create concise, actionable insights to be communicated across the company
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality analysis based on key integrations, marketing campaigns, and product releases
- Assist with setting, analysing and visualizing company KPIs
- Collaborate with Data Engineers to develop views and new data sources
- Review SQL and Python code from across the Data Team to help maintain data and code integrity
- Build proof of concept Python analysis scripts

**Essential requirements**:

- BSc/BA in Mathematics or a related field (physics, data science, computer science, engineering - anything with a maths focus)
- 3+ years working as a data analyst/scientist including presenting insights to stakeholders
- Experience building scaleable data science pipelines
- Experience with standard data science analytical techniques (regression, classification etc).
- Experience with statistical analysis and experiments; including A|B testing
- Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude
- Advanced SQL
- Familiarity with Python or R as standard, advanced knowledge welcome
- Proven experience in working with large complex datasets, ideally consumer web/app analytics focussed
- Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written English
- A focus on high-quality work and attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills

- Have experience working on B2B2C products
- Git/GitHub
- Geospatial analysis skills
- Experience with causal inference or probabilistic modelling techniques
- Experience with Salesforce, Data Studio, Tableau, Looker etc

**The role is based in our centrally located HCMC office**. While you can work from the office five days a week if preferred, our Engineering team can choose to work up to two days a week from home. We also offer a six-week remote-work allowance; for up to six weeks a year, you can work from anywhere in the world (as long as you’ve got great WiFi and are happy to work with your main office timezone).
