**Backend Engineer Wanted for Revenue Acceleration Platform**

We're seeking a skilled Backend Engineer to develop the backend architecture and services supporting our multiple backend apps, driving innovation and scalability in the B2B Commerce platform.

Vartana is the revenue acceleration platform for top-tier enterprise technology companies, empowering sales and finance to accelerate the deal cycle without compromising cash flow through flexible payment options and collaborative sales closing platform.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Build the next generation of our B2B Commerce platform, designing and implementing APIs and data models that enable innovative and embeddable experiences.
  • Design, implement, and operate critical and scalable services, including Underwriting, Servicing, Capital Marketplace, and Closing platform, and evolve complex data models used by various services.
  • Collaborate with teams to understand product requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Write high-quality code, contribute to code reviews, technical design, and problem-solving, and participate in on-call rotation to drive continuous improvements in system availability, scalability, performance, and efficiency.
  • Advocate for and apply best practices regarding availability, scalability, operational excellence, observability, and cost management, and provide technical leadership and mentorship to fellow engineers.

**Requirements:**

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science and Engineering.
  • 8+ years of experience working on backend systems, with at least 5+ years of technical leadership roles leading project teams, setting technical direction, and mentoring senior engineers.
  • Prior experience in architecting, building, launching, and maintaining large and complex systems.
  • Advanced knowledge in one of the following industry-standard languages: Ruby on Rails, Python, Java, or Go, and experience with NoSQL solutions, SQL, and Caching technologies.
  • Ability to bring best practices from across the software engineering world and adapt them to the backend environment.
  • Understanding of operational aspects of work and participation in incident investigation and resolution.
  • Experience providing high-quality reviews on teammates' code and designs, and ability to collaborate and work well with others.
  • Design and business acumen, with ability to influence product improvements using data insights.
