We're seeking a skilled software engineer to help build a distributed digital economy platform.

Job Title: Software Engineer

About the Company: Canal is a startup that aims to change the way people discover and sell physical products online.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in roadmapping and architecture discussions to shape the platform's technical direction.
  • Write high-quality, production-ready code that is readable, maintainable, and scalable.
  • Lead large projects from initial inception to production, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Collaborate with a team of engineers, executives, designers, product managers, and business operators to unblock and support each other.

Requirements:

  • A computer science or technical degree and 3-4 years of industry experience, or 5-6 years in full-time software engineering roles.
  • At least one year of experience working within a web framework (Django, Rails, Spring, etc.).
  • At least one year of experience building with React or a comparable front-end web development library.
  • Extensive knowledge of SQL databases (Postgres preferred).
  • Experience working on projects involving integrations, webhooks, and/or APIs.

Salary Range: $140k-$195k
