About the Role


The Vietnam COO position presents an excellent opportunity to manage performance and drive profitable growth and win share for one of the most growing and profitable businesses in this fast-growing APAC region.


The individual will partner cross-functionally and operate in a diverse set of business units and models (distributor, wholesalers, traditional and modern trade retailers, traditional and modern on-trade outlets, direct-to-consumer such as luxury HNIs, B2B, etc), drive and influence short and long-term growth ambitions and strategic choices through analytics and competitive intelligence.

The position will also lead the way to step-change performance management, fully integrating transformation efforts
- including commercial and digital transformation.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Lead Commercial leadership team and crossfunctional collaboration to deliver short and mediumterm key performance targets and matrices across the portfolio of brands and channels.
  • Joint business planning with key customers and partners regularly, including commercial modeling to deliver business performance targets and controls/compliance agenda.
  • Shape short to mediumterm sustainable growth models, strategies, and thinking for the business to deliver key company priorities over the future horizon. Develop, frame, and lead strategic recommendations, drive new insights, and generate new growth opportunities through analysis (value chain, expansions, whitespaces, new launches, etc.) across the portfolio of brands and partnerships.
  • Lead commercial planning, analysis, and process, including forecasting, budgeting, and people management. Identify key opportunities and risks to deliver growth targets for the business.
  • Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual commercial plans and forecasts.
  • Lead the integration of the Diageo Commercial Transformation agenda and stepchange performance management cycles, standardization, and simplification of reporting.
  • Develop strategies to increase return on investment and profitability through effective planning and execution.
  • Drive a strong internal controls framework for the business and with our partner, through the management of key control processes including compliance & risk management, whilst identifying and executing opportunities for improvements in the control framework.
  • Analyse studies of general economic, market trends, business, and economic conditions and their impact on the organization to frame strategies and drive business delivery.
So, what about you?- Ideally 10-15 years of relevant experience.

MBA is preferred but not required.- Strong Commercial acumen, and fluent in both English and Vietnamese.- Proven track record of leadership skills and experience in various fields such as commercial, marketing, digital transformation, finance, and human resources.- Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development- Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics- Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities- Strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills- Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving- Expected to be very self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a passion for leadership- Collaborative leader that naturally engages teams behind a bold ambition- Ability to easily flex between strategy and execution- Entrepreneurial attitude and bias for quick decision-making and action- Influential across functions, partners, and within VLT- People orientation, phenomenal manager, coach, and mentorship.
