Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide services to fee paying and internal customers in the designated fields of expertise and maintain technical and administrative control of commercial contracts to ensure optimum efficiency and profitability.
  • Proactively work in line with the BV Core Values and Code of Ethics and effective implementation of the ETS Vision.
  • Delivery against key personal and divisional KPI's.
  • Proactively implement the technical standards & service levels for Bureau Veritas.
  • Provide the highest level of technical expertise within a designated discipline, ensuring that the Bureau Veritas technical philosophy and strategies are understood and adhered to throughout the business unit.
  • Keep up to date with developments in standards and legislation affecting their technical discipline and supporting change as required.
  • Provide engineering technical input into external trade associations, technical committees and statutory bodies.
  • Act as the most senior point of referral for technical issues outside the authority of Engineer Surveyor personnel or where guidance or support is required.
  • Develop and provide innovative solutions to consultancy processes thus differentiating Bureau Veritas in the market place.
  • Coach and develop team members and field staff in technical issues, ensuring technical knowledge is maintained and developed through training both on and off the job in order to grow the capability of the business.
  • Analyse Management Information, including the identification of Wind power Inspection defect trends and use information to support decisions and planning inputs

Deliverables:

  • Maintain technical standards within the business to meet business plan measures participating in Technical Competency Testing and Technical Audits.
  • Delivery against key personal and divisional KPI's.
  • Ensure that technical audits are carried out in line with agreed plan.
  • Provide support to the business during recruitment process.
  • Ensure that induction of new engineer surveyors is carried out in line with business requirements and that the training process including sign off and authorisation is carried out to meet business needs.
  • Ensure that update training is identified and carried out to meet business needs.
  • Reviews of Inspection Procedures (IP's) and Technical Guidance Notes (TGN's).
  • Management and delivery of Client SLA.
  • Management of project data.
  • Service delivery to the clients associated with various projects through reporting, attendance of planned and ad hoc meetings.
  • Management of the provision and maintenance of relevant client data.

  • Provide and maintain a exemplary service to their clients.
  • Organize and plan their work effectively and efficiently.
  • Communicate decisions resulting from their activities professionally, concisely and logically.
  • Communicate effectively verbally, in writing, or by electronic means.
  • Mitigate damage to brand through inappropriate inspection decision.
  • Compliance with BV policies, common processes.
  • Effective management of projects associated with both Technical and commercial.

Qualifications Required:

  • Either BSc/BEng level in a relevant field or, MSc/MEng (engineering master's degree or engineering degree) or above in a relevant field

Experience & Skills Required [E]=Essential, [D]=Desirable

  • At least 5 proven years of same professional experience or, 5 years of similar professional experience plus the attendance of the specific internal course
  • In depth knowledge in the relevant technical discipline.
  • Detailed knowledge of inservice inspection procedures and processes in Wind power areas.
  • Good knowledge of market, industry trends, developments and changes in legislation.
  • Good communication skills, including ability to write detailed technical reports.
  • In depth technical knowledge in the relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Experience to Wind Power Operation.
  • Understanding of the safety rules and associated codes of practice that are applicable to the full range of plant, installations and systems within their discipline or disciplines.
