We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an VP, FCC WPB.

Principal Accountabilities:
Impact on the Business / Function

• Ensure proactive approach is taken to identification of financial crime risk change and potential impacts on WPB Business Model in country.
• Development and continuous review for appropriateness of framework to monitor financial crime developments impacting on WPB in country.
• Drive the country implementation plans to quantify impacts and implement actions to address, manage and mitigate impacts of regulatory changes on WPB.
• Develop and implement as required AML, Counter Terrorist Financing, Counter Proliferation Financing, Antibribery/Anticorruption, Sanctions, Tax transparency, Fraud policies and systems that ensure that WPB's exposure to financial crime and reputational risks is managed, in a practical and effective manner, including efficient and reasonable deployment of resources and an understanding of the business operations and needs.
• Establishes and implement strategic policies in country to ensure WPB's exposure to current risks and emerging arising risk is managed appropriately, in a commercially focused and practical manner
• Works closely with relevant Vietnam Financial Crime Investigation (FCI) team and WPB Business Functions to manage Risk & Compliance matters
• Reviews and assists in the effective deployment of the Financial Crime Compliance Assurance function in country.
• Establishes and implement local regulation in terms of AML, AB&C, Fraud, Sanctions, Tax Transparency to ensure WPB's process align with local regulation as well as Global requirement.
• Customers / Stakeholders
• Lead / liaise with relevant country/regional stakeholders within Vietnam WPB, other Global Business and Functional teams to provide WPB expertise on all FC matters.
• Support WPB business in managing financial crime risks aspect in its growth strategy, with a target to become a priority market.
• Interact with regulators and industry bodies on WPB Financial Crime related matters.
• Ensure the appropriate timely and relevant risk information is provided to Head of WPB FC, Head of FC and WPB management team, Risk Management Committee and WPB Risk Committee.
• Leadership of resources, people, process and change management to support a customer focus business operations.
• Leadership & Teamwork
• Strong communication and working relationship within Vietnam WPB, Regional WPB, other Risk Disciplines, Functions and Global Businesses to ensure implementation of new disciplines.
• Lead, motivate and develop an effective FC team through communication, cultivate an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand and improves employee engagement.
• Share best practice with regional/group offices and other business lines with Vietnam
• Maintain and develop positive and professional working relationships with senior business managers at the Group, Regional and Country levels.
• Operational Effectiveness & Control
• Focus on aligning the WPB operating practices with changes in Global Financial Crime Standards and regulatory risk, and ensure that WPB Financial Crime Compliance Framework remains appropriate.
• Ensure all GSM, FIMs, BIMs and dispensations, etc. are updated for changes in Regulation and impacts on business.
• Resolve any/all identified issues promptly, and escalate concerns to Regional Head of WPB FC and other managers as appropriate to ensure timely awareness of any material concerns.
• Maintain and observe all HSBC control standards and implement and observe the Group Compliance Policy, including the timely implementation of recommendations made by internal/external auditors and external regulators.
• Maintain awareness of operational risk within assigned portfolio and minimise the likelihood of it occurring including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting.
