Introduction to BOS Semiconductors
BOS Semiconductors is a fabless semiconductor company developing high-performance AI and automotive SoCs for autonomous driving, intelligent vehicles, robotics, Physical AI, and edge AI applications. Our flagship products, Eagle-N (AI Accelerator) and Eagle-A (Automotive SoC), leverage advanced chiplet architecture to deliver scalable, high-performance computing solutions. Join us in building the next generation of intelligent semiconductor technologies.
Join us in shaping the future of AI technology
Key Responsibilities
• Lead architecture, design, implementation, integration, optimization, and validation of embedded and low-level system software for advanced automotive and AI SoCs.
• Own major SoC software components: system control firmware, bootloaders, BSP, Linux Kernel, RTOS, device drivers, HAL, and platform software.
• Develop and optimize AI/NPU low-level software including NPU control, accelerator runtime integration, scheduling, synchronization, resource/memory management, and data movement.
• Drive system-level performance and hardware-software co-optimization across CPU, NPU, memory, interconnect, and peripherals, covering DRAM bandwidth, DMA, cache, latency, interrupts, and utilization.
• Develop and debug high-speed interfaces/interconnects including PCIe, UCIe, USB, Ethernet, MIPI, and other high-bandwidth SoC interfaces.
• Lead SoC bring-up, FPGA/emulation validation, pre-silicon verification, post-silicon debugging, profiling/tracing, root-cause analysis, and difficult hardware-software issue resolution.
• Review requirements, architecture, design, implementation, integration, and validation aligned with Automotive SPICE (ASPICE), ISO 26262, and Functional Safety.
• Provide technical leadership through architecture/design/code reviews, mentoring, risk management, execution planning, and collaboration with HQ Korea and global cross-functional teams. Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in embedded software, SoC system software, Linux Kernel, firmware, BSP, or device driver development; equivalent technical expertise may be considered.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; strong production-level C/C++ skills.
• Hands-on experience with Linux Kernel, RTOS, BSP, bootloaders, device tree, interrupts, DMA, MMU/IOMMU, cache, memory subsystems, and ARM Cortex-A/Cortex-M or RISC-V SoC architectures.
• Strong computer/SoC architecture knowledge: CPU, accelerators, memory hierarchy, interconnect, coherency, interrupts, DMA, and peripherals; proven low-level hardware-software problem solving.
• System debugging with JTAG, crash dumps, kernel logs, performance counters, tracing; QEMU or other SoC simulation/virtual platform experience is highly desirable.
• Ability to read SoC architecture documents, hardware/register specifications and schematics; strong English communication and cross-team collaboration skills. Preferred Skills and Experience AI/NPU Low-Level System Software
• NPU/GPU/DSP/AI accelerator firmware, runtime, kernel/device drivers; command submission, scheduling, synchronization, interrupt handling, memory/data movement, resource management; Linux/RTOS/compiler runtime integration and AI workload profiling. Memory Management & System Performance Optimization
• DRAM bandwidth, memory allocation, DMA, cache, MMU/IOMMU, virtual/shared memory, coherency, zero-copy, buffer sharing, memory pooling, scatter-gather DMA, asynchronous transfer, and system-wide CPU/NPU/I/O performance analysis. High-Speed Interfaces & Interconnects
