Embodied AI Engineer – VLA models for Humanoid Robotics

Role Overview

VinMotion is on a mission to bring
embodied AI
to next-generation humanoid robots. We are seeking
AI Engineers
who will design, develop and deploy state-of-the-art
Vision–Language–Action (VLA)
models enabling humanoids to:

  • Understand natural language instructions
  • Perceive and reason about complex environments
  • Execute safe and reliable actions in industrial settings

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and develop VLA model architectures for humanoid robots (e.g., π₀, Navila, Groot-N1) combining perception, language and behavior
  • Implement cleaning and preprocessing pipelines for multi-modal data (e.g., text, images, and reference control signal) collected from teleoperation and simulation environments.
  • Apply imitation learning, offline reinforcement learning and preference-based learning to enable humanoid robots to perform intent tasks
  • Optimize trained AI models for low-data, real-time inference, and deploy them to edge/on-robot systems
  • Collaborate with robotics engineers to integrate intelligent behaviors into the robot brain
  • (Senior level) Lead research initiatives, mentor juniors, and contribute to publications/patents

Qualifications

Must-have

  • BSc/MSc/PhD in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Control and Automation, or related fields
  • Strong background in mathematics
  • Strong background in
    generative AI (LLM/VLM), computer vision
    and/or
    multi-agent systems

Nice-to-have

  • Background in diffusion and flow-matching models
  • Experience with
    humanoid robots
    or robotic manipulation/navigation
  • Experience in working with
    ROS2 (C++/Python) and robot simulation frameworks (IsaacSim/Mujoco)
  • Publications in robotics/AI conferences
