ROLE SUMMARY:

Australian International School (AIS) Saigon, a renowned international, co-educational K-13 school in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, has been educating young men and women for more than 16 years.

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Secondary Physical Education Teacher to join our international learning community. The successful candidate will inspire students to lead active, healthy lifestyles and promote the values of teamwork, respect, and personal excellence through sport and physical activity in alignment with the AIS vision and mission. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of PE and a passion for engaging students in the subject.

All teachers at AIS are expected to effectively develop and deliver the curriculum in line with the Inspired Education Group's expectations and meet Inspired teaching standards. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging Physical Education lessons aligned with Cambridge IGCSE and IB Diploma Programme frameworks.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and motivating environment that encourages all students to participate and achieve their personal best.
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies, technologies, and assessment tools to support diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Organize and supervise school sports events, inter-house and inter-school competitions, and extracurricular athletic activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design a cohesive and progressive PE curriculum across year levels.
  • Promote students' holistic development through physical, social, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Contribute actively to school life, including pastoral care, events, and professional learning communities
  • Carrying out additional duties as required by the Secondary Principal, contributing to the broader school community and corporate life.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • A positive, child-centred individual with excellent communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred) and teaching certification in Physical Education
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching in Physical Education
  • Must be eligible to work within Vietnam
  • Experience in teaching IGCSE Cambridge and IB is desirable
  • Solid working knowledge of the concepts, activities, and techniques related to teaching Physical Education at the required level.
  • Well-organised and proficient in school management systems.
  • Patient, flexible, and innovative, with a clear comprehension of how students learn.
  • Team player, diplomatic, proactive and problem-solve
