Merchandise Trainee

*JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Regularly conduct category research and analysis to develop the assigned assortment.
• Propose listing or delisting items and suppliers to achieve category KPIs together with Category Managers.
• Evaluate the market to identify merchandise opportunities and potential ranges, ensuring product availability based on customer needs.
• Build promotional plans within the categories and communicate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure category attractiveness and yearly KPI growth.
• Negotiate with suppliers to optimize merchandise operations in terms of contracts, assortment, pricing, promotions, distribution, etc.
• Support the merchandise team in completing administrative tasks such as price changes, promotional activities, contract signing, and product listing or delisting to achieve category development objectives.
• Monitor product category performance regarding pricing, promotions, product assortment, quality, planning, and allocation; run necessary reports as required.
• Perform other tasks as requested by the Line Manager.

*REQUIREMENTS:

• University students (Year 3 or 4) or fresh graduates majoring in Economics, Business Administration, Commerce, or related fields.
• Have experience in Merchandise in retail or supermarket environment
• Good English skills (reading & writing).
• Able to work full-time for 6 months.
• Customer-focused with good communication and negotiation skills.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and under pressure.
• Analytical mindset, comfortable working with data and figures.
• Proficient in MS Office and basic database usage.
