About the Department

The Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance and planning support and services. We work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Singapore and overseas branches.

Overview of Role

The candidate will be responsible for cross OCs control oversight and project implementation wherever the presence of Retail Operation is required. The role will require knowledge and expertise across the operational spectrum, especially from control perspective. The holder of this job will need to interact with various business seniors and stakeholders across the franchise.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the Retail Operations control framework and project execution in country while collaborating with Group.
• Lead regulatory change impact assessment across Operations Centers to ensure full compliance with regulations and timely escalation with regards to potential non-compliance with regulations.
• Play an SME role across OCs to drive Retail Ops control initiatives.
• Manage and coordinate activities with stakeholders in all aspects of Retail Operations.
• Undertake ad hoc control projects as requested.
• Ensure all actions are executed in accordance with UOB policies and procedures, complying with statutory regulations and laws and ensure enhancement and maintenance of internal controls to reduce/control risks and to improve operations standards.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Banking & Financial industry.
• 4/5+ years in operations industry with a deep understanding of the operations controls.
• Strong communication skills in English and Vietnamese
• A natural leader: someone who can partner with cross-franchise teams and external partners to lead a high performing team.

• Ability to influence others and obtain buy-in for projects.
