Research and Development Supervisor organizes and leads the planning and implementation of projects as well as projects status, responsible for supervising development activities and related issues, correcting deviations from plans and performing delivery planning for assigned tasks.
The Supervisor leads the team in charge to define, develop, implement and maintain some product line and or specific domain of engineering such as SW, HW, Mechanics, TEST... The supervisor must work in conjunction with all the other teams involved in the design of the assigned product line, ensuring:
- success of the products and services, managing the development of customized solutions together with other departments
- team mentoring and development, leveraging organizational resources to improve capacity for project work
- empowerment and engagement of the team in the project, encouraging a sustainable pace with high levels of quality for the team
Role Main activities:
- Supervise the activities of design, validation and testing, being responsible for ensuring a detailed understanding of these needs and the submission of proper documentation.
- Direct work assignments, scheduling, and reviews of work in progress. Handles personnel actions including performance reviews, salary recommendations, and coordination of training and development.
- Provide the technical governance of the team and ensures its efficiency and the good communication with the other teams, external and internal
- Promote the continuous improvement process within the product's life cycle.
- Participate in department budgeting activities as required
Job Details & Specifications:
- Supervise and lead a team of Test Automation Engineers in planning, executing, and managing comprehensive testing automation strategies and development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test automation requirements, test cases structure, and development timelines.
- Provide technical guidance and support to ensure the test automation team delivers high-quality test automation framework and related
procedures. - Coordinate with development teams to understand project requirements and resolve testing-related issues.
- Develop automation framework suitable to conduct and oversee various types of testing, including functional, regression, and performance testing.
- Implement and maintain test automation framework following best practice and to enhance testing efficiency and reuse.
- Analyze test results and work towards continuous improvement of testing processes.
- Stay informed about industry trends, testing tools, and best practices, encourage the team to be innovative and to foster new patent proposal.
- Help the director to define the budget and resources plan including selection of SW and HW tools needed for the work.
- Prepare weekly reports for the direct director highlighting the major achievements, issues and risks related to the development.
- Provide training for new resources added to the team and planning and monitoring activities to improve the team know-how.
- Manage internal conflict and found appropriate solution.
Technical Skills:
- An accomplished Senior Test Automation Engineer with more than 07 years of extensive experience in designing, implementing, and managing automated testing frameworks.
- Demonstrated leadership in guiding teams to achieve successful automation testing outcomes. Proficient in multiple programming languages, including Python, Java, and JavaScript, with a deep understanding of software development life cycle.
- Proven expertise in leveraging advanced automation tools such as, Robot Framework, Selenium, Appium, and others to conduct robust testing for complex systems.
- Possesses a comprehensive understanding of agile and DevOps methodologies.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and continuous integration practices.
- A strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving abilities and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of software quality.
Soft Skills:
- Fluent English communication skills (both verbal and written) to work effectively in an international environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a technical team.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
