Job Purpose
The Agile Coach is a key change agent responsible for guiding teams and leaders in adopting Agile methodologies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and driving large-scale Agile transformation across the organization. This role partners with business and IT stakeholders to enhance collaboration, delivery efficiency, and customer-centricity, ensuring Agile practices are tailored to the unique needs of a large insurance enterprise. The Agile Coach also plays a pivotal role in tech portfolio management, ensuring technology initiatives are aligned with business strategy and deliver maximum value.
Job Responsibilities
Agile Transformation & Enablement
- Lead the adoption and scaling of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.) across multiple teams and business domains.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies, workshops, and training sessions to build Agile capability and mindset.
- Assess team maturity and performance, providing actionable feedback and strategies for improvement.
- Collaborate with leadership to define and implement Agile strategies that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Champion a culture of experimentation, feedback loops, and reflection to drive continuous improvement.
Tech Portfolio Management
- Partner with technology and business leaders to manage the tech portfolio, ensuring initiatives are prioritized, resourced, and tracked for value delivery.
- Facilitate portfolio planning sessions, helping teams align technology investments with strategic objectives.
- Support the evaluation and selection of technology solutions, ensuring they fit within the enterprise architecture and Agile delivery model.
- Monitor portfolio health, risks, and dependencies, recommending adjustments to maximize business impact.
- Promote transparency and data-driven decision making in portfolio management, leveraging Agile metrics and reporting.
Coaching & Mentoring
- Coach and mentor Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and team members to deepen their understanding of Agile principles and practices.
- Support teams in breaking down complex tasks into manageable user stories and planning iterations.
- Guide teams in resolving conflicts, managing dependencies, and overcoming impediments.
- Promote Agile metrics and reporting methods to track progress and outcomes.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders to drive alignment, accountability, and business value.
- Facilitate communication and transparency across teams, divisions, and leadership.
- Advise on Agile best practices for project delivery, resource allocation, and change management.
Continuous Improvement
- Monitor team progress and recommend adjustments to Agile practices.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging Agile methodologies.
- Support the development of an Agile Center of Excellence and contribute to organizational learning.
Job Accountability
- Ensuring Agile frameworks are effectively adopted and scaled, resulting in improved team performance and delivery across the organization.
- Being answerable for the successful prioritization, resourcing, and tracking of technology initiatives to deliver measurable business value.
- Guaranteeing that Agile ceremonies, coaching, and mentoring lead to increased capability, maturity, and continuous improvement within teams.
- Maintaining transparency, alignment, and effective communication among stakeholders, ensuring business objectives are met.
- Promoting and sustaining a culture of experimentation, feedback, and learning, driving ongoing organizational improvement.
- Ensuring portfolio management practices support strategic objectives and maximize business impact.
- Supporting compliance with organizational goals and regulatory requirements in Agile transformation and tech portfolio management.
