Food and Packaging Sourcing Manager

PURPOSE:

This role drives McDonald's Vietnam's rapid growth by developing and executing sourcing strategies for food and packaging categories, optimizing supplier performance, ensuring supply reliability, and delivering cost efficiencies. The position is central in aligning key stakeholders: Operations, Marketing, QA, Finance, and Global Supply Chain teams, around procurement and sourcing objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Strategic Sourcing & Procurement

Develop and execute sourcing strategies for food and packaging to ensure quality, cost competitiveness, and sustainability.

Lead supplier selection, RFQ/RFI, negotiations, contracting, and cost budgeting.

Deliver annual savings and continuous process improvements.

2. Supplier Relationship Management

Build strong partnerships with key suppliers and cross-functional teams.

Conduct regular supplier reviews and drive capability improvement.

Ensure alignment with McDonald's Global/Regional strategies and best practices.

3. Product Development Support

Partner with Marketing, Menu, and Operations for new product launches.

Ensure sourcing solutions meet cost, quality, and timeline targets.

4. Cost & Risk Management

Monitor commodity trends, identify savings opportunities, and mitigate supply risks.

Strengthen local sourcing to enhance supply resilience.

5. Compliance & Documentation

Ensure all sourcing activities meet McDonald's policies, ethics, and local regulations.

Maintain accurate supplier and contract documentation.

Support internal/external audits and educate teams on compliance standards.

6. People & Process Leadership

Develop and lead a high-performing sourcing team.

Enhance sourcing systems, processes, and KPIs for scalability and efficiency.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Supply Chain, Business, or Food Technology.
  • 5–8 years' experience in food/packaging sourcing (FMCG or QSR preferred).
  • Proven negotiation, cost optimization, and strategic sourcing expertise.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in ERP (e.g., SAP) and MS Office.
  • Knowledge of food safety, quality, and sustainability standards; experience with 3PL or import/export a plus.
