Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Financial Specialist to manage and optimize our financial operations. This remote position offers equity participation, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow with our company. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise from working with Japanese financial institutions or investment firms, with a strong preference for those who have navigated the unique financial landscape of the advertising industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning & Analysis:
    Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and budgets to support strategic decision-making
  • Financial Reporting:
    Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including P&L statements, cash flow analysis, and variance reports
  • Budget Management:
    Monitor project budgets and campaign spending, ensuring optimal resource allocation
  • Cash Flow Management:
    Oversee cash flow forecasting and working capital management
  • Client Billing & Collections:
    Manage billing processes, client invoicing, and accounts receivable
  • Vendor Management:
    Handle vendor payments, contract negotiations, and relationship management
  • Compliance & Controls:
    Ensure compliance with financial regulations and maintain robust internal controls
  • Strategic Advisory:
    Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management for business growth
  • Investment Analysis:
    Evaluate potential business opportunities and strategic investments

Required Qualifications

  • Education:
    Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or relevant certifications preferred)
  • Experience:
    Minimum 5 years of experience in finance roles, with specific experience working with Japanese financial institutions or investment firms
  • Industry Knowledge:
    Deep understanding of financial operations in corporate environments, preferably with exposure to the advertising or marketing industry
  • Technical Skills:
    Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and financial modeling
  • Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar)
  • Familiarity with ERP systems
  • Language Skills:
    Professional proficiency in English (Japanese language skills are a strong plus)
  • Analytical Skills:
    Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
  • Communication:
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting financial data to non-financial stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in financial management within advertising agencies or marketing firms
  • Knowledge of Japanese business culture and corporate financial practices
  • Understanding of project-based accounting and media buying financial operations
  • Professional certifications (CPA, CFA, ACCA, or equivalent)
  • Experience with financial operations in a remote work environment
  • Familiarity with international financial transactions and multi-currency operations
