Job Description:

  • Deliver services to support academic skills development, including individual and group counselling
  • Design and organise a series of academic skills development programmes for students
  • Manage, counsel, and support students at academic risk ("At Risk" group) by helping them develop personalised study plans and monitoring their progress
  • Manage and develop the Peer Tutoring programme, including recruiting, training and supervising participating students
  • Provide counselling on mental wellbeing and implement activities to support student welfare, to build a positive learning environment
  • Manage students' academic performance and wellbeing data, analyse and report on service effectiveness, and propose improvements to the student support services
  • Other tasks as assigned by the direct supervisor

Requirement:

  • University degree or higher in Economics, Education, Business, or related major. Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in academic-skills support, academic-skills development or 1-to-1 counselling of high school or university students. Preference given to candidates with experience in an international educational environment or with culturally diverse students
  • Proficiency in English, equivalent to IELTS 6.0 or above
  • Good communication skills, ability to counsel and build positive relationships with students in a multicultural educational environment
  • Ability to design and organise creative learning activities tailored to the diverse needs of students
  • Project management and programme coordination skills
  • Proficiency with educational technologies and learning-management systems (e.g., Canvas, digital learning tools, digital learning resources)
  • Strong analytical mindset, able to use both quantitative and qualitative data to evaluate and improve learning & wellbeing services.
  • Capacity to diagnose causes of student academic difficulties — including academic, psychological, social and personal factors — and recommend support or direct connection with specialist services when needed.

  • Professional certificates such as Graduate Certificate in Education, Academic Advising, Learning Design, or postgraduate certificates in education/academic advising
  • Preferred
  • Certification related to coaching, wellbeing or school-counselling
