Overview:

The Senior Software Developer 1 performs a variety of programming assignments requiring knowledge of established programming procedures and data processing requirements. Responsibilities include maintaining and modifying programs, designing, building and implementing new Web pages and sites, and using a variety of Web development languages and technologies. The Senior Developer works closely with architects to design software solutions to meet performance and quality standards and leads their team through software projects and initiatives. They are responsible for mentoring and training new and less experienced developers.

This is a fully remote, contract role, with the ideal candidate located in Latin America.

Essential Functions:

• Code, test, and troubleshoot programs utilizing the appropriate hardware, database, and programming technology
• Contribute to the analysis of functional requirements while continually watching for new technologies to improve performance
• Determine level of effort for new development
• Test and develop programming modifications
• Display your passion for quality and writing clean and robust code that scales and performs well
• Analyze performance of programs and take action to correct deficiencies based on consultation with users, supervisor, and other project team members
• Problem-solve and think laterally as part of a team, or individually, to meet the needs of the project
• Understand expectations that were set with client and recognize when issues/events may affect delivery
• Adopt, embrace and promote agile practices with your peers
• Understand standard systems development lifecycle processes and apply our methodologies effectively on client engagements
• Adhere to coding standards defined by technical management
• Know and understand the full application and consider the effect changes may have on it; use techniques such as defensive coding and error handling
• Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed
• Perform additional tasks as needed to meet the needs of the team and department, and to support Silverchair's business needs
• Demonstrate proficiency in leveraging Artificial Intelligence tools and technologies to enhance workflow efficiency, automate repetitive tasks, and/or derive actionable insights.

Required Skills:

Qualified candidates will have the desire to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment, the ability to quickly learn and effectively apply new technologies and concepts, and the initiative to excel in a high-performance work culture. Additionally, successful Senior Developers will be able to understand and work in non-coding areas (such as continuous integration and automated testing), lead small projects and teams and the ability to mentor less experienced developers.

Desired Experience:

• 6 or more years' experience with Microsoft web technologies, proficient using ASP.NET, C#, VB.NET, and the .NET Framework
• 6 or more years' experience using MS SQL Server, proficient writing and optimizing SQL code
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related degree, lower degrees must be supplemented with additional relevant experience
• Master's degree in computer science or related field can substitute for 3 years' experience
• Ability to build Software as a Service (SaaS) applications, understanding and coding to meet requirements in an Object Oriented manner
• Proficient in additional technologies and languages such as HTML, DHTML, CSS, AJAX, JavaScript, JQuery, and XML
• Proficient in the use of version control
• Knowledge in creating, reading and understanding technical designs; ability to create action items from the designs
