Reporting Line: Technical Lead

Role Scope: Individual contributor (no people management)

The employer is a consulting and technology services company specializing in Odoo implementation across multiple industries. The organization provides end-to-end services, including system implementation, customization, and technical development, enabling clients to optimize operations and scale efficiently.

As project volume continues to grow and the company advances toward developing proprietary products, this role is critical to executing the Odoo technical strategy and strengthening overall delivery capabilities.

Purpose:

Develop, customize, and maintain Odoo modules in alignment with project requirements, contributing directly to solution quality and the organizations long-term product roadmap.

Expected Outcomes:

• Rapidly gain proficiency with the codebase, development tools, and internal processes
• Deliver assigned modules that meet defined quality and performance standards
• Support QA/UAT by resolving issues and providing clear technical input
• Own the full Odoo module lifecycle, from analysis through deployment
• Implement advanced API integrations and contribute to performance optimization initiatives

• Develop and customize Odoo modules based on business and technical specifications
• Modify models, views, workflows, and business logic per design requirements
• Enhance and extend standard Odoo modules (e.g., Sales, Inventory, Purchase, Accounting)
• Participate in technical analysis with Business Analysts and Project Managers, providing feasibility and effort input
• Produce and maintain technical documentation (processing logic, data models, workflows)
• Implement REST API integrations with third-party systems, including data mapping and basic error handling
• Support QA/UAT through bug fixing, refactoring, and performance optimization
• Assist with migration, deployment, or go-live activities as required
• Collaborate closely with the Technical Lead, BA, QA/QC, and development team; report progress clearly and consistently

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on Odoo development experience (v12 or later)
• Strong proficiency in Python, PostgreSQL, and XML
• Solid understanding of Odoo ORM, models, views, and workflows
• Bachelors degree in Information Technology or a related discipline
• Proficient with Git for version control
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, clear communication, and accountability

• Ability to independently manage the full Odoo module lifecycle (analysis, development, deployment)
• Experience supporting QA/UAT, resolving defects, and improving code quality
• Good understanding of Odoo module structure, security, and access control rules
• Ability to write basic technical documentation (logic flows, data models, workflows)
• Effective collaboration with BA, PM, QA/QC, and Technical Lead, with transparent progress reporting

• Experience with REST APIs and/or webhooks
• Working knowledge of Docker
• Relevant certifications or formal training in Python, Odoo, or Docker
• Exposure to API integration, performance optimization, or advanced refactoring techniques
