Job Overview

As a Backend & Automation Engineering Intern at Saigon Digital, you'll play a hands-on role in helping our team design, build, and optimize internal automation systems that improve productivity and streamline workflows.

You'll work closely with our Development team to connect to AI applications and internal AI tools, and other backend services - helping us enhance how we operate across departments.

This internship is ideal for someone who's curious about backend engineering, passionate about automation, and eager to learn how digital systems connect to create smarter agency operations.

Key Responsibilities

Automation & Workflow Development

• Assist in building and maintaining automated workflows using no-code automation tools.
• Support the integration of our internal applications into internal processes to improve workflow tracking and team collaboration.
• Develop backend connections between internal systems, APIs, and databases.
• Identify opportunities for automation to reduce manual tasks and improve efficiency.

System Maintenance & Documentation

• Help document all automation workflows, data structures, and system logics
• Maintain organized records of automation processes, error logs, and performance metrics.
• Assist in testing and debugging new workflow automations or backend features.

Collaboration & Support

• Work closely with the Development and Operations teams to ensure seamless deployment of automations.
• Support cross-department collaboration by helping align technical workflows with business needs.
• Participate in team meetings to share updates, propose improvements, and learn from senior developers.

Innovation & Research

• Explore new APIs, integrations, and automation tools that could improve internal systems.
• Research best practices in backend automation and propose innovative solutions to enhance workflow reliability.
• Experiment with AI tools and frameworks to support future automation capabilities.

Qualifications

• Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda), JavaScript, Python, or for backend scripting.
• Tools: Familiarity with no-code workflow automation tools (n8n, Zapier, or Make).
• API Knowledge: Understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, and basic database structures.
• Mindset: Eagerness to learn, strong attention to detail, and a problem-solving attitude.
• Communication: Clear communicator who enjoys working collaboratively in a team environment.
