MYP English Language Acquisition
to join our fantastic team.
We are seeking an experienced MYP English Language Acquisition teacher who supports students at all English proficiency levels. The ideal candidate is committed to inquiry-driven learning and understands the needs of EAL learners. You will teach students at various language acquisition phases, tailoring instruction to meet diverse needs while building confidence and belonging. Your experience in differentiating instruction, scaffolding, and using Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles will be essential. You will inspire students to develop strong communication skills, critical thinking, and confidence in using language for self-expression and global connection.
This role offers the opportunity to shape the curriculum in collaboration with a dynamic MYP team. Our department values open communication, shared growth, and collaborative planning. You will implement authentic assessments, monitor student progress, and make informed decisions about advancement and support. A commitment to meaningful technology integration and culturally responsive teaching would be an asset. You will create differentiated classrooms where EAL students feel challenged, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential as confident communicators.

Student Assessment
Establishes clear expectations and goals for each student learning during the year
Collects and analyses data to inform their teaching and provide evidence of student learning
Uses different assessment strategies to ensure all students are able to demonstrate their learning
Uses assessments that are authentic and can be used to inform teaching practice
Informs students' learning by marking and handing back work with the of minimum delay, providing formative comments that help students improve
Maintains a record of assessment through Managebac that is shared with students and parents
Consults with and informs parents regarding their children's progress as required
Pastoral Care
Views themselves as a teacher of the whole child and consequently be involved in more holistic activities that involve creativity, action and/or service
Forms part of a caring community which provides the necessary pastoral care and support for all students
Encourages students to go beyond the minimum needed to get through by discovering what they are capable of achieving
Uses the Learner Profile to frame discussions with students
Encourages students to take full advantage of the school's extra-curricular programme
Consistently monitors student attendance at school and in class and reports significant patterns to the appropriate counselors or administrators
