1. Purpose of the Role
- Purpose of the Role: Responsible for building relationship with local regulators/ authorities and banking associations for advocacy purpose (i.e., lobbying for policy change)
- Candidate may independently work or co-work with one or more team members to complete the assigned tasks. Report to the Chief Legal Officer.
2. Roles and Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze the regulatory development
- Research and write comments on draft/newly issued laws and regulations (including closely working/discussing with the internal stakeholders of MUFG VN) which may have impacts on MUFG VN's operation to be contributed to the local authorities
- Research the international laws (including connect and discuss with legal colleagues of other overseas branches within MUFG network, overseas law firms) to compare the relevant local laws with international laws
- Prepare the presentation/talking-points materials for the Management/Chief Legal Officer to be presented at the workshops, meetings with regulators, industrial associations, peer banks and other relevant organizations
- Build the relationship with regulators, policy makers, industrial associations for purpose of advocacy
- Attend the industrial associations, policy makers events to influence the policy making
- Represent for MUFG VN to provide opinions, views or raise voice to the regulators, policy makers with regard to the local regulations (including the draft laws and regulations) to lobby for policy change aiming at facilitating the business promotion, new product development and smooth operations of MUFG VN
- Share the insights of local laws and regulations with the internal stakeholders of MUFG VN in order for them to consider building the appropriate action plans for implementation of the regulations.
3. Requirement
- Bachelor of laws (preferred)
- Language: Fluent in English
- Strong communication skills with ability to influence others
- Strong research and analytical skills (law laws and international laws).
