Position Overview

To lead and support sustainability initiatives within the wash and finishing processes, ensuring environmental compliance, driving innovation in sustainable practices, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to reduce the environmental footprint of garment processing.

Job Responsibilities

1. Sustainability Strategy & Implementation

  • Align wash and finishing practices with global sustainability goals (e.g., water reduction, chemical management, energy efficiency).
  • Support the integration of sustainable technologies and methods (e.g., ozone, laser, e-flow, waterless dyeing).

2. Process Optimization & Innovation

  • Identify and evaluate new sustainable wash techniques and machinery.
  • Collaborate with R&D and technical teams to pilot and scale eco-friendly wash processes.
  • Prepare new wash innovation / applications to present to buyers constantly.

3. Compliance & Certification

  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards (e.g., HIGG FEM, EIM, ZDHC, Bluesign, GOTS).
  • Support audits and certification processes related to sustainable wash practices.
  • Maintain documentation and reporting for sustainability metrics.

4. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with laundries, suppliers, and workers to promote sustainable practices.
  • Provide training and guidance to internal teams and external partners on sustainable wash methods.

5. Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Collect and analyze data on wash process sustainability performance.
  • Prepare regular reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Use data to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.

Job Requirements

  • School certificate, Diploma/Higher Diploma or above in Fashion, Textile, or related field
  • 5+ years in sustainability, garment finishing, or R&D
  • Knowledge of denim processing (wet/dry finishing, fabric development), environmental regulations, and certifications
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Proficient in MS applications – MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook
