to join our growing Data & Analytics team. This role will be instrumental in turning raw data into actionable insights that support strategic initiatives across investment, product, and customer domains.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a
Data Analyst
at VPS, you will transform complex datasets into intuitive and impactful insights. You will work closely with business teams to uncover trends, design reports and dashboards, and apply statistical techniques to support decision-making. Your ability to craft compelling data stories will drive alignment and action across the organization.

This role sits within the Product Data team and reports to the
Head of Product Data
, under the broader
Product Department
.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders across departments (product team, marketing, customer experience, etc.) to identify analytical opportunities and translate them into actionable insights.
  • Connect the dots between data, system architecture, and business goals, ensuring that analytical outputs are contextually relevant, actionable, and aligned with operational realities.
  • Design and develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools such as
    Power BI, Tableau
    , or
    Apache Superset
    .
  • Communicate insights through effective data storytelling to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Clean, process, and transform large datasets using
    SQL
    and
    Python
    for descriptive, diagnostic, and exploratory analysis.
  • Apply foundational
    statistical techniques
    (e.g., hypothesis testing, regression analysis) and basic
    machine learning algorithms
    (e.g., clustering, decision trees, linear/logistic regression) to support predictive insights.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and monitor key business metrics.
  • Document analyses and support the development of a centralized knowledge base of business intelligence assets.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a
    Data Analyst
    ,
    BI Analyst
    , or similar analytical role.
  • Possess strong domain understanding and the ability to think like a
    business analyst
  • including the capacity to grasp business processes, data flows, and system interactions across the organization.
  • Strong proficiency in
    SQL
    and data transformation techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with
    Power BI, Tableau, or Apache Superset
    .
  • Excellent
    data storytelling
    skills with the ability to translate data into clear business narratives.
  • Working knowledge of
    statistics
    and experience applying basic
    ML models
    (e.g., clustering, regression, classification) to business problems.
  • Proficiency in
    Python
    and
    Jupyter Notebook
    for data analysis.
  • Familiarity with financial concepts and domain knowledge in
    wealth management, investment
    , or broader
    financial services
    .

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working with modern data platform
  • Familiarity with dbt, Airflow, or other tools in the modern data stack.
  • Knowledge of financial KPIs and customer segmentation techniques.
