Your role
The Sustainability Communication Assistant is an entry-level role designed for recent graduates passionate about sustainability and effective communication. Reporting to the Sustainability Manager, this position provides hands-on experience in supporting the creation and implementation of communication strategies for sustainability programs. The role involves assisting with content creation, managing communication channels, and crafting messages to enhance the visibility and engagement of the department's initiatives.
Reports to: Manager, Sustainability
Key Accountabilities
Develop and implement communication strategies to build the department's brand and promote sustainability projects.
Lead content direction and oversee branding consistency across all communication materials.
Manage and operate the department's communication channels (social media, website, newsletters, internal channels).
Coordinate and supervise the communications team (including ambassadors/interns) to deliver campaigns and initiatives.
Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to execute communication activities.
Monitor communication performance metrics (digital engagement, reach, event promotion outcomes) and recommend improvements.
Prepare and adapt messages for stakeholders, including press releases, presentations, and promotional materials.
Support data collection and reporting for sustainability impact communication (e.g., SPI report).
Undertake any other duties assigned by the Sustainability Manager
Key Selection Criteria
Bachelor's degree preferably in Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, or any equivalent.
1–3 years of experience in branding, communication, PR, or social media management.
Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn) and basic content creation tools (Canva, Hootsuite, etc.).
Basic understanding of website management or willingness to learn.
Previous experience in communication, social media management, or event promotion (internships, volunteer work) is a plus.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask. Attention to detail and a creative mindset.
Understanding of sustainability/SDGs is preferred.
Experience in engaging with others to build strong stakeholder engagement demonstrating a creative, innovative, and enthusiastic approach.

Contract duration: 06 months (with potential for extension)

English Proficiency
English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS General 6.0 (or equivalent Linguaskill 160).
