We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Senior Sales Manager – Pharmaceutical to lead and drive our regional/national sales strategy, team performance, and revenue growth. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical market, and a proven ability to build high-performing sales teams. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in pharma sales (especially ethical, branded, or specialty products) and will be responsible for executing go-to-market strategies, building customer relationships, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement sales plans to meet company goals for product promotion, market penetration, and revenue growth.
- Analyze regional sales performance and adjust strategies to achieve or exceed targets.
- Work closely with marketing and medical affairs to align sales messaging with product positioning and scientific data.
Team Leadership
- Lead, train, and mentor a team of Area Sales Managers (ASMs), Medical Representatives (MRs), or Territory Managers.
- Monitor field performance through joint fieldwork, performance metrics, and KPIs.
- Recruit, onboard, and retain top sales talent.
Market & Customer Management
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), doctors, hospitals, distributors, and pharmacies.
- Understand therapeutic areas, disease states, and product-specific knowledge to support sales teams in customer interactions.
- Stay updated on market trends, competitor products, and regulatory changes.
Reporting & Compliance
- Provide accurate sales forecasts, territory performance reports, and competitor insights to senior leadership.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Oversee ethical promotion practices and proper documentation of activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or related field (MBA in Marketing/Pharmaceutical Management is a plus).
- 7–10 years of pharmaceutical sales experience, including 3–5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Proven track record in leading sales teams and achieving revenue targets in ethical/specialty/generic product segments.
- Strong network within the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in pharmaceutical sales.
