Chief Accountant
Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Chief Accountant to oversee all accounting operations and ensure compliance with Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS) and tax regulations. The Chief Accountant will be responsible for managing the accounting team, preparing financial statements, and serving as the primary liaison with tax authorities and auditors. 
Key Responsibilities Financial Management & Reporting
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with VAS and Vietnamese tax regulations
  • Oversee all accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions
  • Prepare management reports and financial analysis for decision-making
  • Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital 

Tax & Compliance
  • Ensure full compliance with Vietnamese tax laws including Corporate Income Tax (CIT), Value Added Tax (VAT), Personal Income Tax (PIT), and other applicable taxes
  • Prepare and submit all tax declarations and reports to relevant authorities on time
  • Coordinate tax audits and inspections by General Department of Taxation
  • Stay updated on changes in Vietnamese accounting standards and tax regulations
  • Maintain proper documentation for all tax matters 

Internal Controls & Audits
  • Establish and maintain internal control systems to safeguard company assets
  • Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits Implement and monitor compliance with company financial policies and procedures
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices

Stakeholder Management
  • Liaise with tax authorities, auditors, banks, and other external parties
  • Collaborate with other departments to support business operations
  • Provide financial guidance to management and department heads
  • Support business planning and budgeting processes

Required Qualifications Education & Certification
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Professional accounting certification (Chief Accountant Certificate issued by Ministry of Finance preferred)
  • CPA or equivalent professional qualification is an advantage Experience
  • Minimum 5-7 years of accounting experience in Vietnam
  • At least 3 years in a senior accounting or Chief Accountant role
  • Experience with Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS) and tax regulations
  • Experience in [specific industry] is preferred

Technical Skills
  • Expert knowledge of VAS, Vietnamese tax laws, and regulations
  • Proficiency in accounting software (SAP, or similar)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with ERP systems is an advantage
  • Familiarity with IFRS 

Language Skills
  • Fluent in Vietnamese (required)

Working Conditions
  • Location: [HCMC, District 3, Vietnam]
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm
  • Reports to: Regional Finance Lead
