About the Role
: To support sourcing and merchandising operations, including supplier research, sample and quality processes, market intelligence, and cost analysis. The role also assists with buyer visits, negotiations, and special projects to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in development of sourcing opportunities with thorough, up-to-date supplier history/ capability research.
  • Assists with operational support for contract merchandise, overseeing, implementing and monitoring office procedures for samples, Quality Assurance checks, documentation, Supplier/ Buyer/ Sourcing communication, shipments and payments.
  • Assists in customer relations by providing communication and background analysis for the development of supplier/ staff profiles and market updates.
  • Assists in market research by maintaining Buyer/ Sourcing merchandiser "libraries" for fabrics, findings, etc., and assisting in the development of specific research reports/ tools.
  • Assists in collecting market intelligence for Catalyst Brands by monitoring market quota conditions, the investigation of competitor activities, and analysis of business/ quota situations and trends.
  • Supports smooth Buyer/ Sourcing visits by assisting with trip planning and supplier meetings, providing costing analysis, and by managing follow up activities and requests.
  • Supports negotiation process by providing cost comparison, delivery estimates, mill status, and other information as required.
  • Handles special projects/ assignments.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma/ Certificate in Clothing & Textile or related discipline
  • At least 3 years working experience in garment fabric/ accessories field
  • Knowledge fabrics (both Woven and Knits) and testing requirement
  • Familiar with MS Office – Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Meticulous, self-motivated, well-organized, independent, responsible
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good command of spoken and written English
