Assistant Manager, Product Development, Treasury

Job Purpose

Support Financial Sales & Product Manager in researching, developing, and implementing NBFI/wholesale banking products, focusing on funding products (Cash, CASA, Deposits) and investment of valuable papers (Both Issuance, and Investment).

Ensure products meet corporate/NBFI client needs, comply with regulatory requirements, and contribute to sustainable business growth.

Develop, enhance, or improve the operation of products, programs, and policies for funding and investment activities under Financial Sales & Product Manager

Key Responsibilities

General

• Operate products and programs related to funding activities within the scope of the Financial Markets Sales.
• Manage, operate, and propose the implementation of technology platforms to support both existing and new products.
• Develop policies and procedures related to assigned product areas.
• Monitor daily developments in money markets, capital markets, and macroeconomic conditions.
• Source and expand relationships with new partners.
• Collaborate with other business units as required.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by senior management.

Funding Products (Cash, CASA, Deposits)

• Conduct market research and analyse client behaviour, interest rate trends, and competitor offerings to propose suitable deposit products.
• Assist in designing and launching corporate deposit packages (CASA, term deposits, flexible deposits).
• Coordinate with Treasury to optimize funding structure and liquidity management.
• Monitor product performance: deposit volume, funding cost, and profitability.
• Prepare product documentation, operational procedures, and pricing/interest rate policies.

Valuable Papers (Issuance, Investment)

• Collaborate with other teams to plan issuance and distribution strategies for NBFI/Corporate clients.
• Analyse capital market trends and investment demand to recommend new product opportunities.
• Track issuance and investment performance, prepare periodic reports on revenue, cost, and risk.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal risk management standards.
• Identify and pursue investment opportunities in government bonds, corporate and financial institution bonds within assigned limits; negotiate and execute transactions with banks and financial institutions to meet business targets.
• Execute issuance activities for CIMB's long-term bonds, certificates of deposit, and other investment papers.
• Complete transaction processes with partners, including trade confirmation (via Reuters FXT, HNX, Bloomberg), documentation, approvals, and monitoring cash flows and maturities.
• Prepare periodic and ad-hoc reports on market conditions and CD/bond trading activities.

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Treasury (Sales & Distribution, ALM & Funding), Risk, Compliance, and IT to deliver end-to-end product solutions.
• Support product approval processes, prepare required documentation, and liaise with relevant stakeholders.
• Participate in system development projects to enhance client experience (e.g., online deposit platforms, e-bond issuance solutions).

Reports & Market Analysis

• Make periodically regulatory / internal report on NBFI/Corp activity
• Follow Competitor product analysis and intelligence.
• Follow and provide regulatory and market update to FIG/ Regional Corporate
• Participate in business planning for CIMB VN Treasury

Regulatory Compliance

• Ensures compliance with local regulatory requirements and external auditors.
• Conduct all activities ethically in accordance with Policies and Procedures approved by the Management and the State Bank of Vietnam regulations

Ad-hoc task:

Any other responsibilities / task as assigned by Line Manager and/or Head of Treasury from time to time.

Job Specification

University degree in Banking, Finance, Economics or relevant fields

1-3 years experience in Banking & Finance industry
