**About the Role**:
Sunbytes is looking for a** Technical Lead**to work with our client, a fast-growing technology company in the** e-commerce platform**industry. This position is full-time and based at the client’s office in Ho Chi Minh City, with opportunities to collaborate closely with international teams and contribute to large-scale system development.Lead technical direction and ensure alignment with business goalsDesign scalable backend systems, APIs, and databasesMaintain high system performance and reliability (SLOs)Oversee code quality, reviews, and legacy system improvementCollaborate across teams to deliver impactful product featuresGuide and mentor team members to grow technical capabilitySupport troubleshooting and provide technical resolution
- Foster strong communication with local and remote stakeholders

**Requirements**:
**_ Technical skills:_**
- ** 5+ years of experience**in backend development using Ruby, Python, Java, PHP or similar
- Proficiency in **Ruby on Rails**or willingness to work in Ruby
- Strong experience with at least two backend frameworks such as NestJS, Laravel, Django, or CakePHP
- Hands-on experience designing and optimizing relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Familiar with legacy code refactoring, REST API and GraphQL integrations
- Knowledge of event-driven systems and tools like**Kafka**
- Experience working with cloud services, especially AWS or GCP
- Proficient in unit testing, CI/CD, and software development best practices
- Experience designing system architecture, interfaces, and database schemas

**_ Soft skills:_**
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in **English**, essential for collaborating with global teams
- Proactive in documentation and communication using tools such as Notion, ClickUp, GitHub Wiki
- Team-oriented mindset with experience in **pair programming** or**mob programming**
- Ability to **mentor and guide** junior developers effectively
- A passion for improving traditional industries through technology
- Japanese language proficiency **(JLPT N1)** is a plus, especially for those interested in cross-cultural collaboration
