As a Well Systems Lead Mechanical Engineer - NPI, you will play a vital role in leading the creation of systems and solutions that fulfil both the business and technical needs of our customers. You’ll be able to learn and evolve in an innovative environment, have the autonomy to make key decisions, solve problems and provide technical guidance to our regional team. You will be expected to perform to the competence requirements listed below with respect to the design /development of Subsea Production System products
- Executing with limited guidance the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned individual and team projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
- Providing technical leadership to Mechanical Product engineering team and coordinate with Analysis, Material and other engineering groups supporting the assigned project.
- Planning and execute the design of high performance pressure control products - interfacing with customers to determine design requirements, performing required design, analysis, and verification tasks - with oversight and direction from more senior engineers.
- Formulating and implementing plans to meet technical requirements, schedules and contract commitments of assigned components and systems.
- Leading or participating on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues
- Recommending, with guidance, the approach to meet the technical and program requirements
- Participating and presenting or reviewing in technical and program reviews
- Assuring proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
- Fulfilling abroad assignments to other Baker Hughes sites to support company business.
- Reviewing/ Releasing related drawings and parts under responsibility sphere.
- Mentor and train less experienced designers in stakeholders engagement (internal and external) developing and maintaining effective relationships/partnerships to meet project deliverables.
- Generating of technical procurement specifications, parts and document suites
- Tasking ownership while working under the guidance of lead and controlled title engineers.
- Ensuring that product design conforms to the requirements specifications.
- Recognizing opportunities for product development improvements and improved ways of working
- Promoting Compliance, Quality & HSE integrity through developing succinct procedures, work instructions, product and process related documentation and creatively promote their use.
- Continuously contributing to department and site goals and objectives.
- Taking responsibility in working across global Engineering Teams to deliver solutions to assigned work packages.
- Demonstrating ability to multi-task and work to agreed schedules.
- Focusing on On-Time Delivery (OTD), whilst providing high quality engineering solutions, right first-time principles philosophy
- Executing FMEAs and participating in HAZOPs

**Fuel your passion**

To be successful in this role you will need to:

- Have Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Design Engineering & engineering experience gained in an Oil and Gas, Energy, Industrial or renewable environment.
- 10+ years of subsea package engineering experience
- Have Chartered Engineering qualification is preferable
- Be capable of interfacing with the client to represent the Baker Hughes
- Have demonstrated experience of collaborating with cross-functional teams in a global-matrix environment to deliver complex technical projects and solutions
- Have strong communication and presentation skills to articulate technical information in a clear and concise manner in English
- Have demonstrate the ability to resolve issues quickly in a fast-moving environment
- Be a motivated self-starter, proactively taking the initiative to lead and solve problems
- Have knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing ANSI Y14.5M (GD&T)
- Have experience performing Finite Element Analysis, preferably ANSYS
- Have good understanding on applicable codes and standards (such as related API, ASME, etc.)
- Have good understanding on general material types, coating types, welding, manufacturing techniques, corrosion protection, and NDE.
- Be able to work in a team environment on short or long-term projects
- Be able to handle multi-tasks
