Technical Program Manager, Manufacturing Mechanical

Minimum qualifications:

- 3 years of experience in Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in consumer electronics mechanical design and manufacturing assembly process.
- Experience in CAD tools (e.g., ProE, Creo, Solidworks, NX).
- Ability to speak and write in English fluently

Preferred qualifications:

- Experience in managing mobile phone projects.
- Experience in managing projects with automation assembly machines with vision system.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence decisions effectively across all project stakeholders and levels.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.

As a Mechanical Technical Program Manager, you will be managing the mechanical assembly process side of the project from initial build through to ramp. You will work closely with the Product Design team (Mechanical Engineering) to ensure design for manufacturability.

You will lead the Contract Manufacturing Production Engineering team on all aspects of the assembly process from sequence and method of putting components into the system, fixture and equipment design, and qualification. You will lead a team of professionals to ensure products are designed and built to high standards. You will work in a fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure environment, as you work with teams to solve problems that gate production line operations.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop the mechanical assembly process and equipment at factory from initial design concept through ramp, and serve as the factory mechanical assembly technical lead in resolving issues.
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop manufacturing processes to meet product requirements.
- Identify, prioritize, and manage key technical changes and risks of pixel phone, ensuring all technical risks associated with a product are identified and closed or mitigated to enable the quality ramp of a product.
- Build improvements and manufacturing, failure analysis, cycle time optimization, line balancing, assembly automation deployment, and product repairability.
- Build and manage assembly automation to enable production with optimal cost structure.
